The Dixie Chicks will appear on The Oprah Winfrey Show on Tuesday (Oct. 24) to talk about the new documentary, Shut Up and Sing. The film follows the band in the time between Natalie Maines' infamous comments about President Bush in 2003 through the launch of their new Accidents & Accusations tour.
Shut Up and Sing will premiere in New York on Oct. 26 and will have a limited release on Oct. 27, in time for fall elections. As previously reported, the film shows Maines watching Bush on television and calling him a "dumb f---."

>>Am I the only person in the world who has NEVER watched a single Oprah show?)
Um...Who is this "Oprah" person?
Natalie Maines and the other two women get out of their waitress jobs and build a top selling recording group selling millions of records to country music fans, They go oversea's and Maines makes a comment about the president in front of foreigners that angers her record buyers. She makes a half-assed apology then she rescinds that apology and makes even dumber comment and now she makes a documntary still attacking that shows her sitting on a couch calling Bush a dumb f^%&$.
She needs to look in the mirror if she wants to see a dumb F^&* Go back and give your Iranian husband a head job sweetheart, when your mouth is full is when you make the most sense.
The Dixie Chicks will appear on The Oprah Winfrey Show on Tuesday (Oct. 24) to WHINE ABOUT BEING PERSECUTED FOR SPEAKING FREELY NOT REALIZING THAT WHEN YOU ARE IN BUSINESS, YOU DON'T TICK OFF YOUR CUSTOMERS. OR EXCEPT THE CONSEQUENCES IF YOU DO.
Hope so, there's no such thing as bad PR. That, and we might gain a few converts. :-)
I'm an American, and I'm aware of it. Most (not all)people on FR are Americans, I'd say they're aware of it.
I'd not seen this quote before. It's amazing how insular lib thinking is. Goes back to the reporter in '84 who couldn't understand how Reagan won because they didn't know a single person who voted for him.
One sided hateful propaganda is one more reason to boycott Hollywood.
When a conservative pays money to watch a movie, he's giving money to the forces who hate him, his family and his beliefs.
Oprah show - the last refuge of a scoundrel
That photo always gives me a laugh ... too bad the foil didn't keep that potato hot, lol.
What Miz Maines doesn't appear to realize, is that she has been successfully boycotted, due to her speech and actions. No matter how big a bogeyman she wants to make of Free Republic, that is the fact of the matter. She is responsible for wrecking that band's future, due to gravely offending the majority of their now-former fans.
I guess it's the "successful" part of boycott that has the left all atwitter? They're certainly a little too fond of the tactic themselves, to be criticizing.
You watch in two years how many LIBERAL ideas are put on "talk" shows--with no chance for an independent group to purchase rebuttal time.
Oprah can air all the crap like this she wants to air--don't get me wrong.
But John McCain's pet project is partially resposible for the cavalcade of anti-conservative propaganda we're going to see in the days before this election day and ESPECIALLY in 2008.
Yes, I know Bush signed it into law--the biggest mistake, in my opinion, of his presidency.
My thoughts exactly!
All their appearance will accomplish is to convince the demidiots that they cannot lose the election. This will result in fewer dims going out to vote (don't want to miss Ophah, you know)!!!
In my house, she's Ophra.
Stealing book titles is not limited to the Dixie Chicks, Hillary stole "It Takes a Village" as well. Then, there's Susan Estrich's rip off of Coulter's book jacket....the former posed and wearing the same clothes as the latter. Not an original bone in any of their bodies.
This rates fairly high on my Why-the-hell-should-I-care-ometer, and the same on my Who-the-hell-is-going-to-watch-it-anyway-ometer.
Yeah, we're powerful, baby. Do you have a problem with non-violent protests and boycotts, Ms. Maines? Perhaps you would like to roll back the entire Civil Rights movement if you do?
The only think looking to take her down is probably a cheetah.
Maybe they'll give FR some on-air free advertising.
Have you ever seen Oprah's magazine cover? Somebody brought in a bunch of the magazines at the hospital where I do volunteer work. Every cover is an airbrushed picture of Queen Oprah. She's got to be the most egomaniacal woman ever.
All I can say is, the more people that see these clowns in that "movie", the better.
It shows the makeup-less wymen and they look really BAD. We all know how women predators have been dealt with recently, and apparently no one cares about ugly (Dixie) chicks.
