Deliver a Spanking
The Pittsburgh Tribune Review ^ | October 22, 2006 | Colin McNickle

Posted on 10/22/2006 8:49:20 AM PDT by Conservative Goddess

I am your typical Republican "supervoter." .... But I'm seriously considering ending that streak this Nov. 7. ...

I'm also a contrarian -- a conservative with libertarian leanings. Combine all these characteristics, then mix in the aggregate Republican record, allow the ire it has created to rise and bake it for a few years and here's what comes out of the oven:

A party base that's mad as hell and no longer willing to rationalize GOP failures. It's a base whose crust grows darker and thicker -- i.e., angrier -- when prominent conservatives and Republicans -- politicians, pundits, radio talk-show hosts and think tankers sensing impending electoral doom -- pop out of their pumpkins and upbraid the watered-on for complaining about being wet.

....

...Pay no attention to the recidivists behind the curtain who, once every two years or four or six, make grand promises of fealty to conservative and party principles only to repeatedly fail to deliver. ... What's the definition of insanity again? In this case it's constantly returning Republicans to power and having the audacity to expect different results. And what could be more stupid than that?

....

Look, folks, it's time to take a stand. Returning this current crew of Republicans to power will only embolden them to spend more time, not less, off the conservative reservation. This is no time to dance the Rationalization Rumba. It is time for the GOP base to deliver a very big SMACK. It's the only way to start the process of true Republican/conservative reclamation.

Fellow Republicans and conservatives, do what you must on Nov. 7. But I, for one, refuse to yet again enter my polling place, vote for the usual GOP suspects...

It's time for the long-spanked to do some spanking.

It's thinking like this that will give us a President Algore or JFnK or Clinton II.

Reads like more "suppress the republican vote"

That's exactly what it is, which would make this poster really happy.

My view of you type of people is that YOU are the ones needing a spanking. Not to mention a serious brain transplant. May God of heaven save us from idiots like you.

My sentiments exactly.

Voting third party or sitting out the election is like leaving your wife and moving in with a crack whore because your wife ran up the credit cards

I am tired of these MORONS who believe that losing is winning. It is TREASON to knowingly, purposefully NOT vote, when doing so can/will result in the TRUE enemies of the Constitution being put into power....

And this "there is no difference" crap is CHILDISH, but more importantly, DANGEROUSLY wrong...It is true that conservatives WANT far MORE difference between the two major parties...but it is goofy to spit this "no difference" B.S. !!!!

The real time to "deliver a message" is during the primaries

We should have gotten rid of Specter in Pennsylvania, regardless of the perceived prospects of his more-conservative replacement

When was the last time you saw an article about liberal voters punishing the Democratic Party by letting the GOP take more power?

And just how did the Republican Party take control of the House, Senate and the White House when there are more registered Rats?

Exactly right. Same goes for single issue voters. "Bush/ Repub Party are big spenders, so I'm not going to vote."
What kind of stupidity is that?
There is a bigger picture and our country is at war. Bush is not perfect; the Republican party is not perfect. WAKE UP! When the hell has there ever been a perfect politician? Get over your pet issues and keep the Dems out. If you think things are bad now...
Some people ought to sue their brains for non-support!

Any person who starts out with the phrase I WAS a republican voter but not anymore....., makes me highly suspicious.

You can be ticked off at your party but to vote Democrat in retaliation or to teach the republicans a lesson is idiotic and suicidal.

The 50% that is delivered by the Republicans is far better than the 100% that the Democrats will inflict.

But as you can see, the majority of posters here do not agree.

Because we're grown ups and make rational decisions based on the FACTS, not on our own personal agendas.

If you stay home and let the demoncraps win, it would be like letting the dems escort all the illegals to their new world.

I got a question, how come win dems say tax cut for the middle class, nobody ask them how much money the middle class makes? The middle class in CA. probably make 2-3 times what the middle class makes in the midwest. Middle class tax cuts hurt the middle class in other parts of the country.

No matter how much lipstick you put on the Grand Old Pig, it is still a pig.

When you reward bad behavior, you get more of it.

Someday when Republican=Conservative, they will deserve the vote. Until then, there is not much difference between big spending, big government Rep. or Dem.

The time to deliver a spanking to RINOs is in the primaries. This is Perot redux.

So true and something else I keep asking (rhetorically, cuz I already know the answer) WHY ARE THERE Noooooooo DINO's????

There were ONLY two that I know of who even comes close to qualifying in the past 25 years and one (Zell Miller) is long gone, the other (a true hero for the common man and not afraid to step on anyone's toes, James "Beam Me Up Scotty" Traficant) is in Jail.

even if it "only" for 2 years, which is what the "enlightened ones" thought in 1954, AND FOR THE NEXT FORTY YEARS!!!.

Oh, you win the prize! You're exactly right.

Anybody who thinks we will EVER get the power back once the Democrats get it back is a fool.

If you are a malcontent conservative, then stay at home.

The dems went from the majority to the minority by letting the inmates on their extreme left run the asylum.

The republicans must stay away from this and kick the conservative extremists to the curb. A center right coalition is what wins.
