We are all over the map this election season. Based on recent conversations, many of us are disgusted with new business taxes, toll road plans, inconsistent leadership on immigration and a general consensus that our leaders are out of touch with the grassroots.
There is a lack of faith out there. That is it. That faith is missing this year.
Yes, the economic numbers look good, but that awful feeling in your stomach wont go away. It is worse than a bad sinus infection in South Texas.
My prediction: Conservatives will get out and vote this November but they want to take someone down. I can feel it. They want to show the elites in our party that we have the ability to take out one of our own. This prediction is based on the level of disgust people are experiencing.
Many of the devoted unpaid grassroots activists Ive spoken to recently are astonished by the level of apathy out there. It seems like our troops are tired and fed up with the whole game.
It is my humble belief that they really want to be inspired and motivated to take action. Where is the torch they can follow?
My suggestion: Quit complaining about the officials you do not like. Get up and rally behind some of our tremendous officials and candidates out there. We have some really talented folks in this great state.
Host a small reception or hit your neighborhood with some push cards.
We could get wiped out if we stay home and sulk.
Yes, you can make a difference. Get up and move- NOW!!
(F.Y.I. I believe that Secretary of State Roger Williams should take a sabbatical from his non-partisan job in the next few weeks. We need a coach who can rally the troops in these crucial hours. This will never happen but it would sure be nice.)
The Foley "Wag the Fag" "scandal" has motivated me, but just the opposite way from what the Moonbats were hoping.
He who stays home gives his vote away
Even if they win, they won't have a working majority, it'll be fun to watch the RATS try and stear the ship. This is going to be a fun two years ...
1) Getting an AIDs test because you're worried about that girl (or was it a guy? you were pretty wasted after all) you "met" for one night a few weeks ago.
2) Can't vote, you have an abortion scheduled that afternoon and you're pretty sure you won't be up for standing in line.
3) Vote? Heck, happy hour starts as soon as I get off work and I'm not going to miss the free buffet!
4) Si no es en Espanol, no puedo leer...
I have property in the supposedly conservative Texas Panhandle and my property taxes increased 14% this year, almost 20% in the past four years. If my New Mexico home was in Bailey County, Texas, my taxes would be close to $8,000 a year. I can't vote in Texas but, if I could, I would just go fishing.
"I do know one thing, the current Congress is not the Congress I voted for in 1994; what happened to all of those people and promises?"
My congresscritter, state senator, state rep, and county officials are all dems! Not the people I voted for either.
This ploy worked last election. Since then the whole republican party pols have done nothing but feather their own individual nests. They won't stand up to the commies. They work to put certified RINOs in office rather than true conservatives. DO NOT blame the electorate if big losses occur. Start with the head guy all the way down for playing patsie with the opposition.
Bush has made conservatives unhappy, but the intelligent response is not to allow Congress to go to the Dems. I don't mind losing Chafee, though, especially if we can make a gain in Md. or MI or MN.
In other words, these "conservatives" want to show the party leadership that they are enemies of the GOP. Great strategy.
Speaker Pelosi says thank you.
Wake up drone. We're going to have her anyway. We need someone up to taking her on and we just don't have them.
broken glass
Same here.
Me to.
Nonsense. I want to take down Nancy Pelosi before she even gets up. So there. PHTHTHTHHT We'll take care of the riff-raff AFTER we win.
How's this for a slogan:
What I mean is, each Republican who voted in the last election should commit to find at least one other Republican who did not vote, and commit (and even take) that Republican to vote this time round.
If just ten percent of the Republicans who voted last tme did this, we would not only hold Congress, we would likely increase our representation by double digits in the Senate as well as the House and put the Demoncrats on the mat for the count.
If you get my drift.
You raise the bar...but I'm still in :)
Pound sand! I've paid my dues. I've voted in every election since I was legally of age to vote, I was a veteran during the Vietnam era for 4 years, I spent 25 years in law enforcement. I think I'll stick around as I've earned the right. You drift.
