The surgeon met with us about 6pm while Richard was in the recovery room. He reported that all went well during surgery.
After he was settled in his room, Richard was alert and talking to us. He even made numerous suggestions about where we could have dinner even though he won't be eating regular food for several days.
Today, I felt surrounded by your prayers which kept me calm and serene. We would appreciate your continued prayers for Richard's recovery from surgery and complete healing.
These words from Luke 8:50 have sustained us: "Fear is useless; what is needed is trust that he will be cured".

Yesterday and today....I have been with Richard at the hospital from early morning until late evening so this is the first time I have been able to acknowledge the many heartfelt prayers posted on this thread by my dearest FReeper FRiends.
The update I sent Nauti Nurse yesterday is in post #194 and this is my update for Tuesday:
Richard was up walking today .... less than 24 hrs after surgery.
He still has many tubes and will have no food for several days but his blood pressure, pulse, temp & blood oxygen level are good.
He's a bit uncomfortable but has self administered pump for pain meds. He's in good spirits.
