Bill Gertz on Drudge is saying this will cause Japan to go nuclear now, for their own protection.

I missed that one. But she just asked this lady from Japan what they "might do to bring NK back". Back? They just tested a nuke. Like they are going to give up the nukes now?

Actually I just see this as confirmation of what we have believed for years about NK.

Iran's been working with both, even though U is the primary, they've been working on P as a weapon route as well.

This is not good.

Now the Japanese will have to have their own nukes. If they decide on Monday to become a nuclear power they'll have a bomb by Friday afternoon.

Then the South Koreans and the Taiwanese will also be forced to follow suit.

God damn you Bill Clinton....

What was Bush to do? North Korea already had nukes by 2001.

Still, I say attack them - they can't hit the US yet. Can't hit Japan. End the nuclear regime, set a prescedent, and hopefully preserve our majority. If it costs some Koreans their lives, oh well.

So based on that - do you believe one was really tested?
I'm wanting to believe it was not a nuke.

Yeah, that is what the reactor is for.

The director of South Korea's monitoring center that is watching for a test with sound and seismic detectors declined to immediately comment on the reported test. The U.S. Geological Survey said it had detected no seismic activity in North Korea, although it's not clear if a blast would be strong enough for its sensors.

So now what does the world do? What does the United States do? Another warning? Another slap on the hand? WHERE and WHEN do we stop all of this? When do we stop Iran?

A Japanese nuclear test, of, say a 2MT thermonuclear device, would probably be just the thing. (And they could presumably do it in a week, given remarks of the Defense Minister, the fact that 20 of the world's 100 most powerful supercomputers belong to the Japanese atomic energy agency, and they are the world's leader in precision machinery.)

They rang the gong. We shall see.

It is North Koreas connection to Iraq that makes this problem extremely serious. Also, North Korea has missiles that can hit the US. How long until they can place a warhead in a missile ?
