CLAIM: FILTHY FOLEY ONLINE MESSAGES WERE PAGE PRANK GONE AWRY
**World Exclusive**
**Must Credit the DRUDGE REPORT**
According to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, Edmund, a conservative Republican, goaded an unwitting Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats.
The primary source, an ally of Edmund, adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of Edmund. Both are fearful that their political careers will be affected if they are publicly brought into the matter.
The prank scenario only applies to the Edmund IM sessions and does not necessarily apply to any other exchanges between the former congressman and others.
The news come on the heels that Edmund has hired former Timothy McVeigh attorney, Stephen Jones.
Developing...
---
He also sent "overtly" friendly e-mails to a 16 year prompting the 16 yr olds parents to complain.
This is a 52 yr old congressman elected to represent the people of his district not pursue his homosexual appetite!
---
16 years old? Where is your source for that? More anonymous IMs?
Come on man! The whole thing is BS. The guy was an 18 year old adult. This is a non story other than a gay guy getting burned at the stake for having a sex chat with an 18 year old adult.
This is making me so mad. The fact that it was up on Drudge yesterday and I e-mailed all the stations that he was 18 , and now no one is reporting this? What gives?!
$$$$$
Respecting your apparent sincerity in your outrage at Republican lack of appropriat response, I ask you to consider that high school juniors volunteer to become Congressional Pages in order to be near Congressmen. Congress members are encouraged to have communication with the pages. It is a variation of any other apprenticeship program.
Please consider relaxing your all or nothing attitude on what Hastert should or should not have done with a fellow congressman, when all that was known was that one former page's parents asked that Foley not contact their child.
Well, it seemed to help Jordan Edmund...
(heh sorry, couldn't resist)
Just teasing. It's a way to tell friends to "lookie here."
ABC has only oral statements from folks sending in anonymous emails to them which claim they used to be pages.
:-)
Whatever, Foley will still wake up as a queer, tomorrow.
The idiot left himself open, and defenseless, because all of the charges are possible!
Does anyone really give a damn now? The damage is done.
I am fed up with being embarassed.
They just reported on Fox that there are questions about the ages of the pages involved, that even in some of the jurisdictions what was done would not be considered a crime with a 16 year old. (some states say that a 16 yo is a consenting adult)
I must get off FR now or my children will forget who I am!
Yeah, I sent them an e-mail:
First cBS now you.
Would Dan Rather still be on the air if he checked things out first.
Somehow, I doubt it.
Sorry if I misunderstood you. No harm, no foul, right? I understand now that you were being rhetorical.
ROTFLMAO!
This story is definitely "developing"!
PING..........just don't ask about "ping lists" - LOL
Bennett did that in citing a conclusion in a book ~ it's a technique not readily used with the great unwashed or with Democrats.
I sometimes forget that we have a lot of converted Democrats over here, so I probably should be less aggressive with the rhetoric.
