Foley Setup? - Part V - Uncovering the Conspiracy
Macsminds ^ | 10.04.06 | Macranger

Posted on 10/04/2006 4:57:03 AM PDT by Perdogg

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a political conspiracy unravel as fast as this one that involves former representative Mark Foley.

Let’s recap.

1. On September 29th Foley is approached by ABC NEWS about salitious Instant Messages with a former page and abruptly resigns. Four days later he turns himself into rehab.

2. Through investigation by several bloggers, including yours truly, it is discovered that during the last few years, liberal watchdog group CREW may have had specific knowlede of the IM’s existance, and of Foley’s activities, and might have possibly been in possession corospondence between Rep. Foley and former page(s). Additionally a known “Republican Gay Outer”, Mike Rogers of Blog Active was found to have materially participated in the IM messaging of Foley and admitted to have been on a “campaign” to out Foley since at least as far back as March 2005, and specifically attempted to threaten Foley in January 2006, thus may be guilty of using threat or intimidation to influence a US Congressman’s vote on US legislation.

Yesterday Gateway Pundit uncovered that Mike Rogers had an a “partner” (although not known to be an accomplice at this point) in John Aravios of America’s Blog in a campaign against Foley as well. Gateway Pundit notes that there is no evidence that Aravios actually had specific evidence, but then holding evidence, and having knowledge of someone holding it are still crimes.

World Net Daily picked up on the story here, and puts together nicely what appears at this point to have been an orchestrated effort on the part of several leftwing activists to “pull the trigger” on this story just prior to midterm elections.

Additionally, while Mr. Foley appears by his resigning to have admitted to participating in IMing and emailing former pages, it’s not clear if all the recorded IM’s are authentic. The FBI, which is looking into the matter, as I mentioned here, will use specific forensic analysist to determine if in fact the corospondence discovered so far is in fact valid. Already it has been discovered that several IM’s may have in fact been tampered with.

At this point it’s not know the full involvement of those - or of others yet to be discovered - is. However, I do know that the specific focus of the FBI at this point is to determine who knew about Foley’s activities, when they knew it and specifically who withheld evidence in what may be a Federal Crime. Yet like in many investigations, there is sometimes the uncovering of other crimes that takes place. It should be said at this point that the attempt to attempt to extort or influence, or threaten a US congressman, in order to infuence legislation, or an election is a Federal Crime, and if in fact principals were involved in such an orchestrated plan it will be discovered.

Again, I must point out that even as a constituant of former respresentitive Foley, I detest his actions, and do not condone and accept them in anyway. In fact I support his prosecution if applicable laws have been broken. But again, those who particpated before the fact in the “outing” of Foley, seem to have had at this point specific knowledge of his activities and if proven at the least are guilty of conspriracy to withhold evidence, and obstruction of justice.

We shall see as the day(s) progress.

Meant to reply to this one. My bad. Probably not a good idea to call me "Sweetheart".

Sorry. I was being saracastic because I didnt see anything offensive about my response to your quesion on instant messaging. I was just attempting to be helpful.

You are free to question how fast the Dems are cranking ads out on this but remember how fast Bush and Kerry cranked out ads showing cuts from the previous days debates. They can be cut and produced in an hour or so. These ads dont have the same production values as something that GM or Ford would put on air but then they are only going to run for a short time and relatively few people have to approve them. Once the tape is produced its just a matter of getting them delivered to the local TV stations to run in place of previously scheduled ads.

It's bigger than even I realized. Funny thing is, this Foley crap won't change my vote one bit, and I'm pretty sure my congressman has a better conservative record than fag boy foley. Anyway, it's just election time, I guess.

Yeah it doesn't change my vote either. I'm disappointed about how this was handled by the leadership... but oh well. Hindsight is 20/20 and all. And I'm sick of everyone who doesn't toe the line getting so much conspiratorial flak. But I guess that probably shows heh. Ironically, I just cable hooked up today... but mostly because they moved MNF to cable... now THAT must be some sort of conspiracy.

If they do not like the attention this story is getting here, it is them that should move on.P> Because you guys if you take it outside of FR are going to make it worse for the Republicans by keeping the story alive and by trying to convince people that while we have some bad apples, these Dems they are bad apples too. They played a dirty trick on us to cause us to lose our God given right to a majority in the House.

But, in the Bush/ Kerry ads, they knew well in advance the debates were going to take place and knew they were going to make ads from them, thus being able to have people in place to pull them together that quickly. There have been ads on this Foley deal from various candidates almost immediately after this became public.

"Are you implying that the Republicans should hide their heads and not try to protect the seat? I could be mistaken, and I apologize if I am, but that's what it sounds like you are saying"

Not at all and no apology needed. I just don't think this will play well with voters. Give it a few weeks maybe. Let the disgust factor die down a little, then bring it up. Right now it just sounds like Republicans think the timing of the information is more important than what the slime-ball did. Maybe some do. Maybe some people don't care that a man who looked, for all the world, like a defender of exploited children was himself exploiting children. Maybe keeping hold of power is more important to some than keeping children safe. Not to me. Call me a troll, call me what you like, but I'd think a whole lot better of Republicans if they'd express a little more outrage over the initial act and a little less about Dem's dirty tricks. Again, I don't belong to any political party, so I may be looking at things a little more open mindedly than some.

Good morning.
"The only thing that matters is perception and voters will perceive this as Republicans defending Foley."

The voters will equate a lack of a response with guilt by association and will vote accordingly.

I get the impression that you know that.

I didn't say don't respond, I said bad timing. Every time the GOP gets caught doing something wrong and Freepers come out of the woodwork with "But the Dems..." I cringe. It's like you want to lose. But, as I said, suit yourselves.

Where's the outrage? They kicked the man out and have publicly called him a slime ball pervert. The man's career is over. It should be over. Have you not read what nearly 100% of FR has said about this scum? What's important is that he is gone and the legal system will handle him, if necessary. It's the dems who are trying to throw all Republicans into this mess, and my gut tells me, dems knew more about this than Republicans did. If that's true, they should be exposed for that. Do you think they shouldn't be?

Every Republican I have seen on TV has prefaced their remarks with a condemnation of Foley. Part of the problem is that the media is making this into an election story. How many seats will this cost the Republicans? What did Speaker Hastert know and when did he know it? The media is between a rock and a hard place. They can't talk about the "gay predator" because they know in the back of minds of most soccer moms, no matter how liberal, that is the equation (gay=predator) that most of parents will have. So they are playing it as a political story. Providing a simplistic answer like getting rid of the Congressional Page system (which I agree with) is an easy and political answer, but it's not going to stop 52 year old men from chatting on line with 17 year old boys. And realistically, no law is going to stop that either.

More info from Gateway Pundit. It can't be though that another informed blogger is reporting there is more to come that will haunt the donks. It can't be! We were told there was no story here, to move along. /s

Links to different things breaking on this story at the site.

http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2006/10/get-your-lawyers-foleygate-scandal.html

What we know now...

Radical Gay Rights Activists held on to information about Representative Foley for months and years. These "Rights Activists" knew that representative Foley had relationships with "young men less than half his age." They did their own investigation on Foley. They even flew in their sources in to be interviewed about the Representative. They shared this information with the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. They held on to the information for over a year. They wrote about how they would break the story at midterm elections.

The GOP leadership HAS openly and publically expressed disgust. Do you see any of them saying Foley shouldn't have hit the curb? No, you do not.

I don't think your alleged lack of political affiliation is causing you to be more open-minded at all. It obviously isn't the case since you are taking the erroneous position that the GOP are in any way defending Foley.

If you read the whole post you'd see that I'm saying that the outrage at what the Dems have done would carry more weight if it were separated from the Foley fiasco by a little time. Right now it looks like Republicans only care about the status of the party. And 1) No, I haven't seen AS MUCH outrage from freepers about Foley as about the Dems. 2) They didn't kick him out, he resigned.

No, I'm taking the position that they are making themselves LOOK like they are defending Foley. Can we just agree to disagree here? No one seems to understand what it is I'm trying to say and I can't spend the whole day clarifying every sentence I write.

I was a juror on a kiddie porn trial and heard AOL's head of security describe how AOL maintains records and can prove what computer was used in accessing the Internet through AOL system.

The FBI "expert" was very muddled and the AOL guy saved the bacon for the DA.

There are records that are only available to AOL's security office and only looked at when there is a complaint. If there is a violation it is referred to the proper authorities.

So this leads me to conclude that there are only four sources for the emails and IMs, cops, the two computers and AOL.

I am now convinced that it is and always was a set up. You should see the idiot page on TV right now that had IM discussions with Foley. The PAGE asked Foley if he was looking for a boyfriend? The PAGE is so democratic that I can't believe it. I am convinced more than ever before that there is WAY more to this story....Tyson Vivyan is his name!!!!
