Attorney: Foley Was Molested as a Teen by a Clergyman
WASHINGTON — Former Rep. Mark Foley was molested between the ages 13 and 15 by a clergyman, his attorney Mark Roth told reporters late Tuesday.
Foley also wants Americans to know that he is a gay man but he never had sexual contact with a minor, Roth said. Foley was admitted on Saturday night to a mental health facility, where he will remain for at least 30 days.
Roth said Foley wanted to release the name and religious affiliation where his alleged molestation occurred, but was advised by civil counsel to delay naming names at this time. However, details of the clergyman, the timeframe and the situation will be released when counsel advises Foley to do so.
The age of consent in DC is apparently 16 years of age.
However, these pages were no longer in DC.
I believe federal rules apply in this situation, and 18 is going to be the defining age.
So, there might well have been a crime. I'm not sure.

Oprah's producer are booking him as we speak. First interview goes to Oprah, then the media blitz to sell Foley's memoirs.

Doesn't excuse a thing but if the RATs press to hard on this, they're going to do some real damage to their gay constituents. After all, if a 16 year old isn't safe from a gay US Congressman, what chance does an 11 year old stand with a gay Scoutmaster?

I don't think it will work. I am will to bet another scandal comes along, but this time, with a (D) next to the name and it will all just suddenly disappear.

The gay community will have nothing to do with him, IMO. They didn't exactly roll out the red carpet for McGreasey, and he was one of their own (democrat).

According to wiki, he tried running as a Democrat for a while and switched parties when that wasn't working out for him. I think he has an ACU number in the 70s, which is far too low for me. I get antsy when they get below 95 or so.
I hope that's the RNC approach to this; hopefully it will backfire on the rats by making their past support for perversion look like, well, what it is...bad.
