Attorney: Foley Was Molested as a Teen by a Clergyman
WASHINGTON — Former Rep. Mark Foley was molested between the ages 13 and 15 by a clergyman, his attorney Mark Roth told reporters late Tuesday.
Foley also wants Americans to know that he is a gay man but he never had sexual contact with a minor, Roth said. Foley was admitted on Saturday night to a mental health facility, where he will remain for at least 30 days.
Roth said Foley wanted to release the name and religious affiliation where his alleged molestation occurred, but was advised by civil counsel to delay naming names at this time. However, details of the clergyman, the timeframe and the situation will be released when counsel advises Foley to do so.

Where is the crime here? Can somebody tell me where the crime is if the facts are as we know them now, that he IM'd boys of legal age?

Where is the crime here? Can somebody tell me where the crime is if the facts are as we know them now, that he IM'd boys of legal age? Has this been confirmed Howlin? All I know for sure is that the pages were former pages when contacted (a point totally lost by the media).

At least it is true that the lawyer said so.
Whether Fooley (not a typo) was ACTUALLY abused as a child, we probably will never know for sure.
Typical excuse for perverted behavior anymore. Someone here or over at HotAir yesterday predicted that this excuse would be used in this case sooner or later.
If Fooley WAS molested as a child, sad, bad and all that, but that is no reason to continue the cycle of molestation.
If you are that psychologically scarred, then you shouldn't be entering politics.
