Attorney: Foley Was Molested as a Teen by a Clergyman
WASHINGTON Former Rep. Mark Foley was molested between the ages 13 and 15 by a clergyman, his attorney Mark Roth told reporters late Tuesday.
Foley also wants Americans to know that he is a gay man but he never had sexual contact with a minor, Roth said. Foley was admitted on Saturday night to a mental health facility, where he will remain for at least 30 days.
Roth said Foley wanted to release the name and religious affiliation where his alleged molestation occurred, but was advised by civil counsel to delay naming names at this time. However, details of the clergyman, the timeframe and the situation will be released when counsel advises Foley to do so.
It's just the way I do things!
Didn't Oprah say she was molested as a child? Does that mean watch her around kids?
The other possibility is that, by blaming the Catholic Church, he wants to invoke some sort of sympathy from the left, who wanted him to go down in the first place (no pun intended). Now that the GOP is running from him and ready to throw the book at him, his only hope is to engender the good will of a possible Democratic House of Representatives.
Well obviously everyone here is not on the same page.
So, let's turn the page and be done with it...
My understanding is that there is a federal law (cosponsored by Foley) which makes online discussion or solicitation of sex with anyone under 18 a crime, regardless of the local age of consent.
Next it'll be that he slept at a Holiday Inn Express.
Yuck! That guy looks ... icky!
As far as Foley, he may well have been molested. Some people will deny that they have a problem and it sometimes takes them getting caught to finally recognize the problem they have. By no means am I making any excuses for this guy.
Question is: Now that he's blamed a clergyman for his deviant behavior, will the Democrats and the Left embrace him?
What gets me about that guy is when he became Governor he removed the Howard Stern rest stop sign from a truck stop bathroom saying it was offensive, yet Jim sucking c**k in that same bathroom was ok.
If you never heard the story, when Christie Todd Whitman was running for Governor, Howard Stern said he would support her and push for her if she put up a sign at a highway rest stop that said "Howard Sterns rest stop", and when she won, she did just that. When McSleezey came in, he had it torn down as he deemed it too offensive. According to McSleazy that sign was offensive to kids...But a kid walking in that same bathroom seeing McSleezy getting his stool pushed in, his pie hole widened, isn`t.
Maybe this could turn out like the CBS forgery. Somebody should look into this guy...well, I mean, look into his party affiliations. Starting to look a little suspicious.
His lawyer said he broke no laws. Which may be true. If he had sex with one of the pages in DC, it would have been legal. If he did it in Florida, it would have not been. It also depends on the time. Some of the penalties on the internet now were not in place during the IM's.
He may very well not have broken any laws other than furnishing alcohol to a minor. Even though the age of consent is 16 in DC, you still can't give em beer.
Do you know anything about his conservative voting record? Is he a RINO? Is that the right term? I mean, is a a McCain type?
I guess. I'm not sure. I assume Oprah is popular with homosexuals.
The line has been blurred from understanding why something happens to assigning blame. Basically an Oprah phenom...but dates back much earlier...
Here's some lyrics from West Side Story...
Dear kindly Sergeant Krupke,
You gotta understand,
It's just our bringin' up-ke
That gets us out of hand.
Our mothers all are junkies,
Our fathers all are drunks.
Golly Moses, natcherly we're punks!
ACTION AND JETS
Gee, Officer Krupke, we're very upset;
We never had the love that ev'ry child oughta get.
We ain't no delinquents,
We're misunderstood.
Deep down inside us there is good!
ACTION
There is good!
ALL
There is good, there is good,
There is untapped good!
Like inside, the worst of us is good!
SNOWBOY: (Spoken) That's a touchin' good story.
ACTION: (Spoken) Lemme tell it to the world!
SNOWBOY: Just tell it to the judge.
ACTION
Dear kindly Judge, your Honor,
My parents treat me rough.
With all their marijuana,
They won't give me a puff.
They didn't wanna have me,
But somehow I was had.
Leapin' lizards! That's why I'm so bad!
DIESEL: (As Judge) Right!
Officer Krupke, you're really a square;
This boy don't need a judge, he needs an analyst's care!
It's just his neurosis that oughta be curbed.
He's psychologic'ly disturbed!
ACTION
I'm disturbed!
JETS
We're disturbed, we're disturbed,
We're the most disturbed,
Like we're psychologic'ly disturbed.
DIESEL: (Spoken, as Judge) In the opinion on this court, this child is depraved on account he ain't had a normal home.
ACTION: (Spoken) Hey, I'm depraved on account I'm deprived.
DIESEL: So take him to a headshrinker.
ACTION (Sings)
My father is a bastard,
My ma's an S.O.B.
My grandpa's always plastered,
My grandma pushes tea.
My sister wears a mustache,
My brother wears a dress.
Goodness gracious, that's why I'm a mess!
A-RAB: (As Psychiatrist) Yes!
Officer Krupke, you're really a slob.
This boy don't need a doctor, just a good honest job.
Society's played him a terrible trick,
And sociologic'ly he's sick!
ACTION
I am sick!
ALL
We are sick, we are sick,
We are sick, sick, sick,
Like we're sociologically sick!
A-RAB: In my opinion, this child don't need to have his head shrunk at all. Juvenile delinquency is purely a social disease!
ACTION: Hey, I got a social disease!
A-RAB: So take him to a social worker!
ACTION
Dear kindly social worker,
They say go earn a buck.
Like be a soda jerker,
Which means like be a schumck.
It's not I'm anti-social,
I'm only anti-work.
Gloryosky! That's why I'm a jerk!
BABY JOHN: (As Female Social Worker)
Eek!
Officer Krupke, you've done it again.
This boy don't need a job, he needs a year in the pen.
It ain't just a question of misunderstood;
Deep down inside him, he's no good!
ACTION
I'm no good!
ALL
We're no good, we're no good!
We're no earthly good,
Like the best of us is no damn good!
DIESEL (As Judge)
The trouble is he's crazy.
A-RAB (As Psychiatrist)
The trouble is he drinks.
BABY JOHN (As Female Social Worker)
The trouble is he's lazy.
DIESEL
The trouble is he stinks.
A-RAB
The trouble is he's growing.
BABY JOHN
The trouble is he's grown.
ALL
Krupke, we got troubles of our own!
Gee, Officer Krupke,
We're down on our knees,
'Cause no one wants a fellow with a social disease.
Gee, Officer Krupke,
What are we to do?
Gee, Officer Krupke,
Krup you!
Are you working on your BS degree with the major of understatement?
Tragically, most molesters of boys were molested as children
I'm an old goat but I've had it 'up to here' with this line of reasoning! My folks beat the c**p out of me, as well as never had a kind word to say, and this was just the way it was for a large part of my generation. But we did NOT grow up and hit our kids or treat them like s**t. One can CHOOSE how to be!! NO ONE is a robot! Foley CHOSE to be a scumbag.
Fine idea, but then it would just be "all about sex" which would be perfectly acceptable to the leftists.
Just shut up Foley!
