If the lawyer is calling this news conference, then I suspect it involves one of the following: 1) an announcement that Foley is the target of a formal investigation, and/or 2) an announcement that other high-profile names in Washington were involved in, uh, "relationships" with him.

Foley is a pervert, and I am glad he is gone, but what charges? He didn't touch any of these pages, as far as I have heard, and the age of consent in enlightened Washington DC is 16. What would he be charged with doing? I have asked this on several threads and on the Spencer Hughes show (Hughes acted as though I supported what this guy did, the idiot.) What crime could Foley be charged with? I assume he violated House rules (at least I hope there are rules against this), but if you can have consensual sex with a 16 year old in DC, surely you can IM about it. I would support criminal legislation in this regard, but I doubt you could get enough Dems to pass it.

What charges? According to D.C. law a 16-year old is an adult, and what Foley did, however repugnant, was not neither "child abuse" nor illegal. Perhaps they can use stalker laws, but I doubt it.
