CAIRO, Egypt (AP) -- An al-Qaida-linked group posted a Web video Saturday purporting to show the bodies of two American soldiers being dragged behind a truck, then set on fire in apparent retaliation for the rape-slaying of a young Iraqi woman by U.S. troops from the same unit.

The Mujahedeen Shura Council -- an umbrella organization of insurgent groups, including al-Qaida in Iraq -- posted another video in June showing the soldiers' mutilated bodies, and claiming it killed them. It was not clear whether the video posted Saturday was a continuation of that footage, or why it was released.

It was impossible to identify the bodies, but the footage was believed to be of Pfc. Kristian Menchaca, 23, and Pfc. Thomas Tucker, 25, who went missing after being attacked by insurgents on June 16 at a checkpoint south of Baghdad. Their remains were found three days later, and the U.S. military said they had been mutilated.

The video showed masked men dragging the corpses, first by hand, then behind a truck, beheading one of them and then setting them on fire. Below the graphic footage is a subtitle: "The two soldiers belong to the same brigade of the soldier who raped our sister in Mahmoudiya."

Maybe we should e-mail the link...not that they would watch it....

Maybe if enough of us sent the link some would watch it out of curiosity. Most of them probably do not even know about it, their heads are buried in the sand and their minds are only on the next fund raiser.

"What we have here is a failure to communicate" A line out of the Paul Newman movie Cool Hand Luke 1967, that kind of goes along with the other line out of the same film, about someone "getting their mind right" and does not refer to our conversation, but to the servents of the people in question. Sorry, but I can sure see how you might have a question in your mind, the way it was written.

The gloves so to speak should never be on in war unless man to man.

I want McCain, Graham and their little cabal to view these videos over and over again.

I can't watch it. My heart hurts for these soldiers and their families. Let's stop and think though. They killed these soldiers in mid-June and are releasing the video now? Do you think things are going well for them? I was very upset to hear about this video, but then the realization came.

If you look around at the web news on the war today and start reading the stories, they are all recycled. Look at the dates. The bombings and losses we suffered are from days and weeks ago. Geez, we've even seen a recycled dead-Bin Laden today. This looks like a spiteful and desperate attempt to gain publicity and stir up their cause.

May God forgive them for what they did to these great American soldiers because I never will. And as for McCain, Warren, et al, I will never forgive them either for their recent actions.

Very nice piece of work, senator mccain. Your words DO matter.

Thank you for doing everything in your power to embolden and provide protection and "rights" to our enemies.

It does not appear that the Geneva Convention ever helps our guys. It is only a way to hogtie us. I wanted to ask McCain how he thought the Geneva Convention helped HIM when he was a POW.....
This sickens me, and I am sick for their families. God Bless them.

This tape was released just to slap American's in the face for bickering over the Geneva Convention and to say,"our brutality can beat your pu*sy politicians and in turn beat your military because of it and there is nothing the American people can do except accept it".

I can't either. When our son was there, I stayed glued to the news. I knew they were somewhere west of Baghdad in an extremely dangerous area doing dismounted patrols. Of course, sometimes I imagined the worst of the worst. But the one horror even I couldn't get my mind wrapped around was the thought that he could be captured. I knew it could happen but to even think about it, well, I just couldn't go there. I pray for those boys' families every single day. I never dreamed that I would hear about such unspeakable evil in my lifetime. I thank your husband and son for their service. God bless all our soldiers and may their aim be true!

"I will not watch the video...I just can't."

I understand. I prefer to remember these soldiers as the fine Americans they were. And I will never forget them nor forgive the savages who did this. RIP soldiers and watch out for America from above.

Pipe down you keyboard commando, they are professionals out to look good in an air conditioned office rather than doing what it takes to finish off these people.
