ALARM - Lebanon: China will send a thousand of men
PEIJING - China will send on the whole 1.000 men in Lebanon to reinforce the new mission of maintenance of the peace of the United Nations, announced to Monday Chinese the Prime Minister Wen Jiabao.
Translation; China sends 1,000 soldiers to southern Lebanon to help offload, uncrate and deliver North Korean weapons to Hezbollah.
Oh joy.
How did the Chinese fair in Haiti?
1,000 Russian paratroopers are also heading for Lebanon for UNIFIL, along with a 400 troop engineering battalion which is not part of UNIFIL.
Well... hmmm... let them come. Let's see how the Chinese overseas infantry looks like or hopefully fights.
An army of international troops including Chinese and Russians massing on the border of Israel!

They may need to send 1,000 political commissars to make sure these guys don't wander off.

I think it's just more of the "everything is a sign of the end of days" hysteria you see from time to time.
It will be interesting to see how they perform and geared up.
What would be nice is if China would send, say, 50,000 troops, take over all of southern Lebanon and keep everyone else out.
With that as a foot hold in the region, China should then send about 1,000,000 soldiers to take over and secure Iraq.

It'll take you a couple of minutes to read it. Give it a quick read. If you don't see current events as fitting into this, that's fine. If you do, well, all the better.
The units are from Chinese Special Forces and Russian Spetsnaz. There are the crack units.
Isn't haiti a major drug transit? Then they probably accomplished what they were sent to do. Lebanon is a major route for drugs and weapons. I'm sure they'll keep things operating smoothly for themselves here, too.
