I'm sitting here wearing my Bush 2000 tee shirt. That is from the primaries, long before Cheney was selected as Veep.
Maybe I could make my attitude clearer if I traded it for a "Proud Bushbot" one. :-)
You're welcome. Sounds like what you teach your son is very wise. Love, in the sense referred to in the Ten Commandments, indeed is not the same a like.
Glad I'm not alone. The horror genre has just never been my thing.
Exactly, Snugs.
The rest of the world saw her as a cute, feisty, funny woman and she was all that,
but I saw the dark side.
And, yeah, it would be gilding the lily to try and tag me with that Bushbot thing.
I'm really not a Bushbot. I love Bush and support him in almost everything. Bushbot carries the implication that we are robots going blindly along with anything and everything he might say or do.
We don't. We have a deep respect for him and know that his positions are heartfelt, so we respect them even if we don't totally agree.
So, I am not a bushbot, but I play one on TV and on this forum.
Cheers, Snugs.
Bite your tongue. Colin Powell has never been supportive of this President and it's about time someone reminds him that he's not in office anymore and needs to shut up.
I was amazed that they had found her, and that, yes, she had survived all these years.
Thanks for the dose!
David Gregory puts down Pres. Bush as part of his plan for advancing his tv career and making headlines.
Hardly. But the invitation to "those non-military" militant countries to consider this proposal is "on the table". In addition to what Gregory thinks he's talking about.
It's clear to me that Gregory doesn't know what he's talking about. His line of questioning reveals this. He's tangled in his own bias, ergo he is blind.
With respect, I don't agree he's correct. The Geneva Conventions (emphasis plural since there are multple such) were written some 60 years ago in the aftermath of WWII, long before common sense ceased to exist; long before modern political correctness and misplaced angst about "the moral high ground" infected thinking about such matters.
These days, with lawyers hanging over everything, and with the western world fairly strangling itself on nonsensical political correctness, the more clarity in law, the better. The currently serving JAG's and general officers quoted at the top of this thread disagree with Powell, and for good reason.
:)
That's the spirit!
Well then Gregory failed big time yesterday, because GWB smacked him down so hard I could hear the thud all the way out here in Los Angeles. :)
He was also tangled in wires on the ground near where he was sitting, so he wasn't ready when the President called on him. Snicker...
For you
We should be so lucky that other nations would adopt our standards for the treatment of prisoners.
Standards mean squat to most of them.
Yeah, really. I've noticed how much Al Queda likes to follow the Geneva Conventions. *rolling my eyes*
Yeah, they're thumbing through the pages while trying to find instructions for humane beheading.
Yep, it's right next to the directions on how to humanely blow up children. And near the section on using innocent civilians as human shields.
Thanks for your great captions Wolfstar, you got laughs all the way out here in Oz! :)
This morning I woke up to a short interchange from the press conference (not the one you featured) on the radio. It sounded great, with lots of laughter. I wish I could hear it all!
Oh well, thanks to all the hard work you and all the others put into the Dose, I do get some positive President Bush news, in stead of just the media coverage. Thanks to all.
Amen! He is the strongest president that we have had...well...since Ronald Reagan! It's the MSM and the DIMs that try to portray him as weak. History will tell a different story!
Action mirroring Gregory's internal reality. :)
