How would frozen spinach be safer?

Re the spinach, I'm no authority at all, but my understanding is that frozen vegetables are flash frozen as soon as they come from the field and are washed, so they are less suceptible to bacterial colonization. I also think freezing kills many bacteria. But again, I'm no authority.
