All I'll say about Carter when he dies is for him to RIP.

All I'll say is may God have mercy on his soul.

One of the first things a President does when he takes office is create his funeral plans. This has been done ever since JFK.

Can you believe this thread? I lived there when she was Governor and to see some of these comments I am sitting here shaking my head.

Shouldn't speak ill of the dead but I object to history being rewritten on here. She was a member of Emily's List and was no yellow dog Democrat. She was a LIBERAL!

Because someone dies you don't all of sudden make them something they never were. Wikipedia is not even allowed in English Comp classes because there are so many half truths and outright lies since it can be changed pretty at will with no checking.

They were "friendly" because GHWB is a gentleman. They were not friends.

Sadly there are no more "Scoop Jackson" Democrats. You could be opposed to Democrats without questioning their patriotism. Those days are long gone.

May she rest in peace and may her family be comforted in their time of sorrow.

Ann Richards, tough, strong and very intelligent. And she was a hard worker! It's a shame she was on the wrong side.

RIP Ann

Look, she was not a "liberal" in the sense that Boxer or Pelosi are liberals. She came at you straight on and didn't whine when she got hit back. There is room in politics to respect worthy adversaries. They are few and far between in the democrat party these days. She did nothing to harm her state or the nation while she was in government. She knew the Texas mindset and governed within those parameters. She may have belonged to liberal groups BUT she governed like any other Texas democrat of the times which was to the right any democrat and not a few republicans north of the Mississippi .

I join in prayer for her loved ones as they deal with her homegoing. May God give them peace, blessing and guidance.

Cancer -- esophagus.

Highest death rates from Cancer
1. Pancreas
2. Esophagus

Very tough and very uncomfortable way to die. May her soul rest in peace.

she was not a "liberal" in the sense...

Yes, she was and was proud of it. A liberal to the bone. Ask Jim Hightower and Molly Ivins.

All conservative Dems in TX turned Repub years ago--especially if they aspired to statewide office.

Rick Perry is a RINO poster boy for a conservative Democrat--changed party but not his way of thinking.
