For terrorists to mount such an attack...

"Such an attack"? It doesn't sound half as well-thoughtout and executed as the plan two American high school knuckleheads pulled off in Columbine.

I'm not saying it couldn't have been staged, but I'd wait for some evidence first. Do you think the four dead people volunteered to die to put on a good show?

t I'd wait for some evidence first.

We are dealing here with Syrian terrorist regime, do not expect to see any evidence. The evidence is the horrible history of such regime.

Absolutely correct. No claim of responsibility from any of the Mujahideen. The AQ forums are fuming at al-Assad's lackeys. This was staged by Syrian intel.

Either it's staged propoganda or a means to test out how the staff and security would respond.

Also not reported in the MSM are the several "incidents" on airliners this last week causing diversions and delays. These people are constantly probing for weaknesses. Never forget that they want to kill us!

Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

Yes, but sometimes its a super secret CIA assassination weapon, mounting a 10mm recoiless rifle, with a frozen ice projectile, that leaves no evidence. ;-)

Four dead people might not have been clued as to just what was in the script.

As I said, it is of course possible, and I know there are a lot of dumbasses over there, but it would take a special level of dumbass to not know that death would likely lie ahead when they were given the order to charge the American embassy, guns ablazing.

How different is that from strapping on a bomb?

It's not different at all. That was my point. They entered the mission knowing they were going to die. And the security officer died defending the embassy.

Unless it was all a sham and they all allowed themselves to be killed for the good pr. That's a hard sell.

That was great. So true.
Why didn't he have that many people guarding the embassy? I'll tell you why. Bush hates black people, thats why.

The dead guys didn't necessarily know it was PR, if that is what went down.I do not insist that that is how it happened but I do think it is as likely a scenario as any other with those people. Read the history of the Caliphate and the Mamelukes and the Assassins and court life and death in the various sultanates and emirates of the past right up to the very recent past and, in Iraq and Syria and Iran, arguably right up to the present. Murder and intrigue were more highly developed than even in late Rome or Byzantium. No agent or hireling ever actually knew what his employer's end was or even who the actual employer was.
