Lauer/Bush on Today show: Pretty tense

Did anyone else see the exchange between President Bush and the Today show's Matt Lauer this morning on the Today show?

I tuned in near the end, and it looked pretty intense. Lauer was a very aggressive in his hand gestures, repeatedly pointing a stern finger into the president's chest. Almost looked like it would turn physical. Would appreciate a link to any online video.

Just the first seconds of the interview boil me. He talks to Bush with no respect, like he's a child.

Lauer was standoffish and it's funny to watch Bush outclass him.

Does anybody believe "not a day goes by" where Lauer "doesn't think about terrorism"?

Oh yeah....Russert thought he was in a debate, not an interview. Russert wasn't soliciting answers, he was an advocate for the Left. After every answer the VP gave, Russert would reply with "but..." and then he'd recite the talking points of the DNC or the kook fringe.

I haven't seen the interview or watched the clip available on the net, but Lauer is one of those limp wristed metrosexuals who absolutely turn me off. Worse than turn me off. Make me sort of sick. He's a girly man and probably intimidated by being in the presence of real power and someone who is a man's man.

I watched part of the interview this morning. Lauer was going on and on and on about whether or not we tortured the Al Qaeda prisoners who had been in CIA custody before they were recently turned over to Gitmo.

Lauer was particularly incensed that Khalid Sheik Mohammed had been water boarded -- strapped to a board and made to think he would be drowned.

He and the President were literally going toe to toe over it. GWB was taking no guff. The President finally made it personal and said he was doing everything possible to "protect your [Lauer's] family." Lauer looked like the idiot he is. As for me, at that point I was hoping Dubya would deck the fool, but since he couldn't, I turned the interview off.
