Following complaints, ABC tweaks its 9/11 mini-series

ABC toned down a scene that involved Clinton's national security adviser, Samuel "Sandy" Berger, declining to give the order to kill bin Laden, according to a person involved with the film who declined to be identified. "That sequence has been the focus of attention," the source said.

The network also decided that the credits would say the film is based "in part" on the 9/11 panel report, rather than "based on" the report, as the producers originally intended.

Actually, Bill Clinton scribbles "do you think we should ever kill Bin Laden, or just send him to a tropical island.... mmmm, this hot babe here has a mouth like a vaccuum......" on a draft report but his handwriting is nearly illegible because he is busy being serviced by Monica..... Sandy Burglar stuffs the document down his pants but years later realizes he did not manage to destroy all the incriminating evidence of Clinton's, er, distraction, so the Burglar heads into the National Archives to cleanse the files.

the best thing that could happen at this point is that ABC ends up killing this movie. it would then appear that the clintons killed it to cover their crimes and it would be far more effective than having it actually aired. I hope ABC kills this thing now. Better a martyr than a sanitized version which blames only Bush.

I'm pretty sure I mentioned 'telling the truth'. I think the real stories would be far, far worse than the fictionalized versions from hollywood. I'd rather see somebody playing Mansour Ijaz on TV explaining to Sandy Burglar why it was a good idea to get the Sudanese or the Saudis to turn over OBL to us in any form possible. Or having DOJ lawyers explaining to the FBI why info on terrorists couldn't be passed to State, CIA or Customs in order to avoid violating grand jury secrecy rules.
