Following complaints, ABC tweaks its 9/11 mini-series

ABC toned down a scene that involved Clinton's national security adviser, Samuel "Sandy" Berger, declining to give the order to kill bin Laden, according to a person involved with the film who declined to be identified. "That sequence has been the focus of attention," the source said.
The network also decided that the credits would say the film is based "in part" on the 9/11 panel report, rather than "based on" the report, as the producers originally intended.

This sort of thing that I expected they would do. It may be good if we tell ABC that people want to see the movie, so they won't have second thought. Please contact them:

IMHO, we don't need to say anything about Clintonistas, etc., a simple message that we want to watch the movie I think will be fine.

ABC: Tower of Jello.
This would not have happened had it been President Bush and the GOP complaining.

What I sent to ABC, both local and national, a few days back:
The basic message of what I sent was this:
I have not watched ABC in years. Have not watched anything on ABC, period, either local or national.
But, if you put the 9/11 mini-series on, AS IS, I just might reconsider my decision and let the advertisers know this also.

Gee how do you tone it down?
Have him stare at the phone refusing to pick it up?
Or have him inadvertently hang up

Achtung! Schnell! More outrageous lies and propaganda. Is ABC going to lead a book burning in the middle of town square now?

I heard Jed Babbin talk about this yesterday and he said that even with this scene edited you cannot come away from this movie not seeing how little Clinton did
To: Sir Gawain
Can you imagine if the Bush Administration called any network and asked it to edit out scenes on a TV show? Can you imagine the shrieking calls of censorship?
Unbelievable.

The Center for American Progress Action Fund, a liberal advocacy group, said Wednesday it had collected 25,000 letters asking ABC to either correct or cancel the mini-series.When they say "correct" they really mean "be nice to Bubba!"

If this miniseries is full of lies and inaccuracies, bring on the lawsuits. There have been plenty of "inaccuracies" broadcast about the current administration, and I don't see them screaming for censorship.

The really ironic thing about all this is that if we started a boycott of the show's sponsors, the 'rats would start howling about censorship and how there was a 'whiff of facism in the air' and all that crap.

Let me get this straight - the NY Times will run stories all day long exposing our secret tactics for tracking terrorists (against the wishes of the Bush Administration), but ABC will take a phone call from a liberal ex-President decide not to run certain scenes in a movie?

I was going to give them credit for showing this film but they lose a lot of points for caving to the Clintonistas...so effing typical.
Just like Michael Moore corrected his version, right?../sarcasm off
