Today In New Orleans, President Bush Discussed The Lessons Our Nation Has Learned Since Katrina, The Work That Has Been Done, And The Many Challenges That Still Lie Ahead. One year ago today, Southeast Louisiana was struck by a cruel hurricane and flooding on a massive scale.
The President has returned to New Orleans to reiterate his commitment and to report what the Federal government is doing to make good on its promises.
However, the one-year anniversary is not the finish line, and many challenges still remain.

Enjoy your Tuesday visit to Sanity Island
Mystery, is Mike going back to active service in the MidEast? I didn't know about that.
When you can I look forward to that Plum Buckle recipe.
Me too ;)
What do you like about them?
Snugs!
Howdy from the American Northwest.
It is THIS picture that tells me the humility of this GREAT MAN. He supplicates himself to the Priest, allowing the Blessing to be given. He KNOWS there is something bigger and greater. You just don't see this in any of our prior "leaders"...
That is great photo and contender for the Photo of the Day. I often just use the word Bush for search at Yahoo it means you have to wade through loads of rubbish and of course recently loads of Reggie Bush but it does turn up photos that otherwise under President or George or Laura Bush do not appear.
Can I have your toaster choice?
"Purple! :)" (Bold text & purple coloring.
Jonny! ;OD (picture: bold text & blue coloring.)
Haven't really studied to the point of "making it happen" yet, LOL!
Thank you, Dr Deb. I'll read with great interest the truth of the NO flood.
Sounds like my type of recipes I do similar things to the above especially if pushed for time.
My local store also does a good packet mix for Chicken Chauseur. (sp)
Back in few minutes just helping dad to bed.
You as well :) It has been a great day. The Beau opened up today with a great reception! :)
the lyrics to Fats' "Walking To New Orleans"

That's the song that was played after the President's speech at the high school, while he was shaking hands with people along the rope line. It was most fitting.
This is a sign of his respect for God as well as the respect for the Roman Catholic Church.
Hi Jonny ?Martin? ?Marion? ?Matthew?
"A real man bowing his head an asking for God's Blessing."
Amen!...
A real man does that very thing!
God bless Pres. B. & all who ask for God's blessing
1st & foremost.
Did you know ahead of time that this was going to be the anniversary of Katrina??? ;)
The idiots in the media make us look in every nook and cranny to find pictures of the President.
I'm getting a fast education on that--especially the bias from Yahoo/AP/Reuters. Most of the captions were okay today, but sometimes they're just oozing contempt. Or they sneak a questionable "file photo" into the current crop of pictures. Pfft.
Yes....Mike is scheduled for deployment to Kuwait in 07...so far it's suppose to be in June of 07, but I have a sneaky feeling that the date has been moved up.....too many meetings lately re this deployment.....I hope I'm wrong....I'm gonna have both Mike and Jon over there at the same time....although, Mike will remain in Kuwait, if the orders are not changed.
