Possible plane crash in Lexington, KY. My brother works security for Lexington UK Hospital and was just called in. No news locally or on major news outlets yet. I didn't want to post anything for fear of being wrong, but he's still waiting for an official call while on stand-by.
Update from WTVQ 36 Lexington:
A plane has crashed near the Blue Grass Airport this morning. No word on details at this time. We are told it was a commercial aircraft. Versailles Road is blocked as emergency vehicles circle around the site. We have live coverage beginning at 7:20am. Stay with Action News 36 for more details.
Thanks for the refresh.
This woulkd be all over the news outlets otherwise...
A drill .... is better than the actual event... prayers offered for all...
has got a mention of it now. I'm just posting this for the link mainly since there's no new info up yet.
I was just about to post the same thing. Prayers for all involved.
Hospital sources confirm that the only survivor at this time is the captain.
Any early suspicion as to the cause?
Prayers for the people on the plane.

Plane crashes at Blue Grass Airport
A commercial plane has crashed at Blue Grass Airport, according to authorities.
The aircraft involved is of a smaller variety, used on regional trips.
Police have closed parts of Versailles Road.
More detailed reports will be posted as they become available.
Thanks. I had just looked at that site about 15 minutes ago. Comair was one of the first regional airlines to go to this type of aircraft. About 12-13 years ago IIRC.
On CNN again now.
No suspicions regarding cause.
CNN reporting it crashed on takeoff.
FAA reports 51 deaths.
This will be another hit for CanadAir as there has been suspected problems with these jets on takeoff.
Wings<-----spent over 20 years flying the big D...
I praised God every day we didnt scratch the paint...
You should be on CNN - they're struggling to answer this question right now...
Nothing as of yet, just news of the crash on CNN.
FAA reports 51 deaths.
That would be a full airplane. Fifty seaters I believe.
Looking at the Sunday Morning delta express flights out of Lexington, it could be a CRJ-100, Embraer-145 both are 50 seaters or an md-88 which is a 142 seater.
The earliest flights are the crj-100 which is most likely since few people like to depart at 6am.
Fox just now reporting.
On FNC just a moment ago.
FoxNews Alert -- now reporting a medium sized plane has crashed in Lexington.
No further details, no indication of number of passengers.
