NEW YORK - Pornographic movies now seem nearly as pervasive in America's hotel rooms as tiny shampoo bottles, and the lodging industry shows little concern as conservative activists rev up a protest campaign aimed at triggering a federal crackdown.
A coalition of 13 conservative groups including the Family Research Council and Concerned Women for America took out full-page ads in some editions of USA Today earlier this month urging the Justice Department and FBI to investigate whether some of the pay-per-view movies widely available in hotels violate federal and state obscenity laws.
The coalition also is trying to draw attention to CleanHotels.com, a directory of hotels and motels nationwide that pledge to exclude adult offerings from their in-room entertainment service.

My work is done! Up up and AWAAAAAYYYYYYYY....
"The adult movies were always more than the regular movies so the company made it known that premium priced movies would not be reimbursed."
Gee can I work for you. My company wont pay or ANY movie...
Is there a law somewhere telling people they have to order porn when staying at a hotel or a motel?
No? Ok, then why bother at all trying to ban something. Freedom of choice is a wonderful thing.
Choose not to order.....it's really simple.
'cause they're getting it on for real with their wifey.
Some hotels don't encourage the guests to masturbate (with porn channels). Maybe that should be the ad campaign the competition should use.
"And remember, we don't rent our rooms by the hour to prostitutes..."
"Would you mind identifying that chain..."
Whoever they are, I think they've been sending me a lot of unwanted e-mail recently, apparently concerned about some of my....private functions, e.g.
`Hey there, want a party in your pants?'
First, I have yet to see "porn" in any hotel. While some of the stuff might come close, it is not porn, at least not based upon the community standards in most of the places I travel. Second, the hotels are not selling those movies to minors. They are selling them to consenting adults who have to go the extra mile to order the movies so as to minimize inadvertant exposure. If a minor is able to watch porn, then its because mommy and/or daddy aren't doing their jobs.

Hmm...I'm not quite sure how they'd word an ad like that.

Nah, I don't see that ad pulling in the guests.
Worthy of the Nanny State Ping List? I don't partake in porn, but then I don't smoke after sex, either. ;)
Either way, this is still WRONG. Maybe some of the Smoke Gnatzies that show up on our Smokers Rights Threads will "get it" if they can see where taking away ANY legal adult commodity leads?
Nah. Probably not, LOL!
Is it still porn if condoms are used? /s
So...you've looked? ;-)
Pure happenstance. Err, yeah... that's the ticket!
You hit the nail on the head - it is the nanny state. See it's bad when the libs are in charge, but good when so-called "conservatives" are.
Let's spend our energies on porn, putting bags over DOJ statues, creationism and ignore the fact that Islam is again at the front gates.
I don't think its porn unless there's a money shot.
YOU STAYED AT A HOTEL LAST NIGHT, DIDN'T YOU???
Drug prohibition, nah go ahead and enjoy your taxes being used to enforce a blackmarket monopoly that makes men like Pablo Escobar rich, fills our prisons so that there's not enough room to keep pedophiles incarcerated, promotes violence and funds the Taliban. It's only been going on for 30 years and has been wildly successful in preventing drug abuse. We don't need that tax money for the WOT or social security or border defense.
Sanitized for your protection.
It is one thing to prohibit such activity, it is quite another to encourage it.

LOL! Well, I know what the circle-and-bar "No Smoking" sign looks like. As for the other, perhaps they could use a pic of Bill Clinton with the circle and bar.
Hey, he WANTED a legacy...
