Looking for Map of Cell Phone Purchases
self | August 11, 2006 | madison10

Posted on 08/11/2006 3:01:13 PM PDT by madison10

Has any one made a map, or done any tracking, of cities/towns the cell phones are being purchased? or of where the suspects are being picked up?

Thanks.

"Your list would make sense for Middle Easterners to be checked when they buy these a hundred at a time or more."

Your early comments on this thread said to ban all Tracfone purchases. That is what I was responding to.

Profiling makes more sense.

If I remember right, this also happened here in our area...seems like a month or so ago. You can add Greenville SC to the list too!

That's the part of this puzzle that doesn't make sense to me. They could have bought 50-100 a day, one at a time and we would be thing, America loves these things and not having this conversation. It is very high profile to buy bulk though. Are they for something else? Are they arrogant and don't care if we know they are up to something? I don't know.

The main thing is that this thread has made some people realize that there are some serious threats out there, and this is not a time to be complacent.

I know I read something like that somewhere.
I'm not sure if it was a NYT article or one of the
press releases by special interest groups.

I have no reason to doubt your information RFC_Gal.

Should we register the owners of those things too?
Register them and then ban 'em. I'd also ban the Koran, Islam and force non-citizens to leave the country.
In other words, I'd do ANYTHING to defeat my enemy. And if you wouldn't, then you deserve what they have in store for you.

cell phones, kitchen timers, pagers, PDAs with wireless access and a host of other tech.

>> Register them and then ban 'em.

You really feel the need to ban kitchen timers? What about devices that contains items that can be turned into timers?

The main legitimate buyers for prepaid cell phones are people who don't have good credit and/or don't want a contract and don't talk much.

I just made a phone call to someone that sells these phones. He is out in the Gulf on a fishing trip and catching bait fish . About the only thing he could say was that they had to sell the phones to whoever wanted them, ME men or not. They could be sued for discrimination if they refused to sell.

Wish I was out there fishing with them. : )

Would you trust these guys? Ban 'em!

The ones built into the stove are okay. Well, wait let me think here.... hmmm ... yeah, stoves are okay until we catch the first Arab male with a stove strapped to his back - then we ban them too.

Not really.. On my phone I can turn GPS tracking off or on as I see fit.

That's what you think. It's (tracking) always on whether the phone is or not. Always.

I am sure they do, right down to video of the purchase and the tag number of their vehicle.

Bill O'reilly just mentioned FreeRepublic.

Wasn't really listening, just caught FR mentioned and I think they were talking about blogs. One of the guests was Laura Schwartz (sp?) used to work for Clinton. Usually change channels when BOR is on.
