Mike Douglas, Merv Griffin and Dinah Shore all had great experience from the big band days and had to work their way up. Today, they grab them off the street.

They used to have daytime talk shows like Mike Douglas, Merv Griffin and Dinah Shore that weren't garbage fest of lurid images and behavior.No kidding. Seems like a different planet now.
