I ask my fellow freepers indulgence for this vanity, because I believe it is too important to be buried in the back of the forum.
Can a good Muslim be a good American? I sent that question to a friend who worked in Saudi Arabia for 20 years.
The following is his reply:
Theologically - no. Because his allegiance is to Allah, the moon god of Arabia.
Religiously - no. Because no other religion is accepted by his Allah except Islam (Quran, 2:256)
Scripturally - no. Because his allegiance is to the five pillars of Islam and the Quran (Koran).
Geographically - no. Because his allegiance is to Mecca, to which he turns in prayer five times a day.
Socially - no. Because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make friends with Christians or Jews.
Politically - no. Because he must submit to the mullah (spiritual leaders), who teach annihilation of Israel and Destruction of America, the great Satan.
Domestically - no. Because he is instructed to marry four women and beat and scourge his wife when she disobeys him (Quran 4:34).
Intellectually - no. Because he cannot accept the American Constitution since it is based on Biblical principles and he believes the Bible to be corrupt.
Philosophically - no. Because Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran do not allow freedom of religion and expression. Democracy and Islam cannot co-exist. Every Muslim government is either dictatorial or autocratic.
Spiritually - no. Because when we declare "one nation under God," the Christian's God is loving and kind, while Allah is NEVER referred to as heavenly father, nor is he ever called love in The Quran's 99 excellent names.
Therefore after much study and deliberation...perhaps we should be very suspicious of ALL MUSLIMS in this country. They obviously cannot be both "good" Muslims and good Americans. Call it what you wish...it's still the truth. The more who understand this, the better it will be for our country and our future. The war is bigger than most Americans know or understand.
You initiated the challenge to a quote I had included in a posting to someone else. Your reference disputing it is from a Christian website. Islamic websites and some others like CNN say something different. It is a matter of controversy and I don't know if you really can get an objective answer. What's up with you?
The same could be said about Christians.
Did you read what I wrote?
This is an open board known for its support of the policies of the President and readable anywhere in the world.
and oh yes, I can assure you that your views are not U.S. policy.
However, if by "Convert or Die" you mean that quote states that Islam is the only acceptable way, then I think you misunderstood it. The quote is against polytheism and makes no mention of the "People of the Book" (ie. Christians and Jews).
Yes, jihad can be in the context of a war. That's jihad bis saif and is only one of five.
From what I've read, I haven't seen any miracles from Muhammad. Being the last messenger doesn't endow you the ability to perform miracles.
It's connected to paying the poor due, but I've read several times of the need to take care of orphans and not cheat them.
Quite frankly, I can't convince you, and you can't convince me, either. It's inherently flawed to use one religion to contradict another, which is what you're doing now.
The one thing that just amazes me is how some people here just can't realize that different languages have different words which mean the same thing.
So you think that Allah is not the same as the Judeo-Christian God. That's fine. But, and this is really just what I want, at least recognize that Allah itself is a word which is also used by Arab Christians and Arab Jews to refer to the God of Abraham. Their usage of Allah predates Islam.
If I worship a God named Jesus, and you don't, we workship different gods. Why is that so hard to comprehend?
I did answer your question.
Those Jews that don't worship Jesus as part of the trinity are not worshiping God.
I take it your a muslim?
BTW- I don't believe in god.
That is very well put.
I am not clear with this story. Who got murdered and why?
I don't know of any Christians murdering people in the name of their god? They used to do that hundreds of years ago but that is now over.
What are you talking about? How can you compare the two?
It is not a matter of taking anyone's word. I would prefer an objective study since the "numbers" are politicized by various parties to promote different agendas.
I am not a muslim. I figured by your spelling of Christian that you were either an atheist or agnostic.
Yes, Christians and Jews have a third option open, submitting to dhimmi status and paying the Jizya tax. But Christians and Jews do not have the option of "none of the above". They must convert, submit, or die
And just how does that make it any better with regard to being a good American? Such a practice would be considered a religious freedom here, and following that stricture would make you guilty of murder. We don't consider murderers to be "good citizens".
Deportation of the Jihadists, Islamists, and their supporters (not the entire umma) would be a good start.
