I ask my fellow freepers indulgence for this vanity, because I believe it is too important to be buried in the back of the forum.
Can a good Muslim be a good American? I sent that question to a friend who worked in Saudi Arabia for 20 years.
The following is his reply:
Theologically - no. Because his allegiance is to Allah, the moon god of Arabia.
Religiously - no. Because no other religion is accepted by his Allah except Islam (Quran, 2:256)
Scripturally - no. Because his allegiance is to the five pillars of Islam and the Quran (Koran).
Geographically - no. Because his allegiance is to Mecca, to which he turns in prayer five times a day.
Socially - no. Because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make friends with Christians or Jews.
Politically - no. Because he must submit to the mullah (spiritual leaders), who teach annihilation of Israel and Destruction of America, the great Satan.
Domestically - no. Because he is instructed to marry four women and beat and scourge his wife when she disobeys him (Quran 4:34).
Intellectually - no. Because he cannot accept the American Constitution since it is based on Biblical principles and he believes the Bible to be corrupt.
Philosophically - no. Because Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran do not allow freedom of religion and expression. Democracy and Islam cannot co-exist. Every Muslim government is either dictatorial or autocratic.
Spiritually - no. Because when we declare "one nation under God," the Christian's God is loving and kind, while Allah is NEVER referred to as heavenly father, nor is he ever called love in The Quran's 99 excellent names.
Therefore after much study and deliberation...perhaps we should be very suspicious of ALL MUSLIMS in this country. They obviously cannot be both "good" Muslims and good Americans. Call it what you wish...it's still the truth. The more who understand this, the better it will be for our country and our future. The war is bigger than most Americans know or understand.
As far as Christ was concerned, He was fulfilling Judaic law. So, to Him, it's still Judaism. Shortly after His resurrection, followers started calling His teachings "The Way". "Christian" was actually a derogatory term that Rome used.
Start by having all Muslims swear allegance to the US Constitution. Of couse, this may not mean much, since Islam allows them to lie to infidels....
So, does this mean you recognise a standard of morality and ethics external to the State? That it's not unreasonable (or "theocratic") to place some authority above the State?
Now can you reconcile that with the statement that everyone should be using the Bible?
And where, exactly, did I make that statement? I certainly said that all Christian Citizens should be doing that. But manifestly not all Citizens are Christians. On the other hand, since I believe Christianity to be True, I believe that all people should be Christians. That's a matter for persuasion, though, not legislation..
Given the opportunity, would you codify that sentiment into law?
Not in the United States. The Confessional State (not at all the same thing as a theocracy) doesn't seem to have worked much better where it was tried than the Tolerant State we have here.
Since Jews do not believe that Jesus was the son of God, do you feel that they believe in a different God? I don't mean to straw man you, I'm just asking a question.
"Start by having all Muslims swear allegance to the US Constitution."
What for? Half the people on this board can't honestly do that.
"Of couse, this may not mean much, since Islam allows them to lie to infidels...."
So why do it at all? For a laugh? Nothing they can do is ever going to convince you anyway.
...... well, we do until your people get us under Sharia law, anyways.
If you want to talk about the destruction of freedom, let us start THERE, instead.
Emotional nonsense.
I will fight the implementation of Sharia in this country as hard as I would fight the proposed criminalization of Islam here.
Both concepts are anti-American, and both are evil.
Your third sentence in your second paragraph contains grammatical errors. I don't know what you're trying to say.
Obviously, the one God of Abrahamic religions is not the same in polytheist religions. I don't contest that. You don't need to apologize.
Jesus, although not the messiah, is considered a phophet and born of a virgin.
While you may not accept Allah or the teachings of Islam, the concept of the monotheistic God is clearly the same in all three religions.
Realistic future.
I will fight the implementation of Sharia in this country as hard as I would fight the proposed criminalization of Islam here.
Hopefully it will not be too late.
I'm going to be one of those in the lead of this struggle. Some of my advocacy will rub you the wrong way. I don't care -- we are headed towards a fight for existance.
Virtually everyone believes themselves to be exceptional. But, we all lack sufficient distance, to make such an assessment about our own selves rationally, yourself included. You're taking part in the "internet message board" that you condemned as not attracting the best and brightest, having posted many times on this thread alone, and yet the irony of your blanket statement seems to escape you.
Whats that prove? If you take the oath seriously like I do it may mean something, but otherwise ......
What's stopping you? Doesn't the First Commandment come before the First Amendment?
Kabar, you're not cliaming that any of those nations provide religious freedom to the degree that America does, are you?
In Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangledash, Egypt, Nigeria and Turkey Christian worship is allowed but those who follow it either do so at their peril or at the least are heavily discouraged.

Some of my advocacy will rub you the wrong way.
Only when you advocate throwing out the Constitution. Stay away from that, and I'll have no quarrel with you.
Hey, sometimes you just know.
Satan believes in the one true god too - I not following his vision of truth any more than I'm following Mohamed's.
Then read the whole post. I asked YOU a couple of questions. Answer them.
