I have to confess that with cheddar I actually prefer Canadian cheddar unless you can get a really strong one.
I visited Cheddar gorge a few years ago and bought some there - that was lovely. I believe it was produced locally and was handmade.
It is shame that Cheddar is so far from London because otherwise I am certain more oversea visitors would go there as it is a very beautiful place and the wonderful caves etc.

I heard a blurb that the Brits did not tell us until the end for fear of another treasonous leak. Did anybody else hear that?According to WH statements released today, Tony Blair and George Bush were in close touch about this plot throughout the period when it was under surveillance. Also, our CIA cooperated closely with the British intelligence services. At least that's the news I heard today.

There is definitely a resurgence of British or English patriotism that I have not seen before in my lifetime. We are usually very good at putting ourselves down and criticizing and thinking of others as better but more and more I see ordinary Brits (English) wanting to be British/English and be proud of it.This is a good and encouraging outcome, snugs. I imagine folks of your dad's generation are stunned to find Britain under a new threat, different from but equal to the one faced by your brave country during WWII.

There's definitely a build up here, Dolly.
We just need to be in MAJOR prayer for our President, for other world leaders, and for every single law enforcement officer out there.

Sadly, I heard they were afraid the leak would come from our CIA. Yes it is sad...pathetic really. Odd that the President made a point of saying how well our agencies worked together and with their British counterparts. I wonder if it was a special team that was put together.

Oh, how I remember doing that with my one and only child, a daughter. I lurked outside her school all morning till it was time to go in and fetch her. She just got married in June...Time will fly by so enjoy your little crumb crunchers as much as you can.

I was out most of the day and didn't hear news until this evening, but were all the men they were looking for captured?
To: Wolfstar
Indeed as the Met Police said today an unimaginable scale

That's good to hear, snugs.
Socialism and liberalism are the antithesis of patriotism, but when your lives are threatened by an outside force, it makes sense that your love of country would increase.......even if (unfortunately for many here), it is temporary.
I am praying that even this evil plot, foiled before it could be carried out, makes people think again about the apathy they have fallen into since 9/11.
I hope things remain peaceful in Great Britain.

Thanks Wolfstar. I was getting little bits and pieces from the TV at the post office as I stood in line and news on the radio in between stops.

Well, she's got another year before she finishes her education, so I'm trying not to be too worried about her.
She's fine, but yikes! She was on the tube exactly where it blew up the day before it blew up, and now this.....
