Police are investigating reports of severed fingers, after a stabbing in the Uptown area overnight.
Police arrived at 31st and Lyndale Aves. S. in Minneapolis around 3 a.m., finding two victims that appeared to have been stabbed with a two-and-a-half foot Samurai-style sword. The two victims were taken to Hennepin County Medical Center.
Later, two more suspects then showed up at HCMC with stab wounds, and police took those people into custody. The suspects taken into custody were identified as Hossem Chalbi, 18, and Mohammed Khalil, 29.
"I saw the first guy rolling down the stairs at me completely on fire with blood," witness Matthew Tellfair told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS. "I did see an EMT coming past with a bag of fingers in their hand saying 'we're going to try and match these up.'"
"And there was one guy with a bloody sword...No joke," added witness Martin Knotsmith. "It was over two feet long and of the Samurai-style, slightly curved, very sharp."
According to police reports, two armed men stormed the apartment with a gun, and a scuffle ensued. One of the victims had a Samurai sword in the apartment and the sword somehow became part of the conflict.
All people involved have non-life threatening injuries.
Sounds like Castillo popping in and out of doorways with that samurai sword.
oh yeah! okinawa one way!
Whoa. That takes me back to college! I dated a guy who loved that movie. Watched it way too many times. (Once would have been enough.)
Ping
Yeah, and his Kung Fu was probably stronger too.
Somalis hopped up on khat, I'll wager. There's no shortage of them here. They seem to be supplementing the revenues from their parking-ramp-toll-booth empire with petty criminal acts.
The sworder should have beheaded them in the name of "diversity". Allahu fubar!
I have also stated many times that my weapon of choice for home defense is my sword!
My sword is kept three feet away from my computer, and if I am surprised by a home invader, that is what I would grab first.
When you are defending your life in an emergency situation, there is nothing more satisfying and final than what a sword can do to the human body.
A bullet makes a hole in your attacker's body.
A sword makes his head roll across the floor!
The people with the sword wounds were the criminals who attempted the home invasion.
But here in Minnesota, everyone's a victim.
You wrote, "My sword is kept three feet away from my computer, and if I am surprised by a home invader, that is what I would grab first."
I prefer the stapler, which is just about as useful as a sword when engaged with an assailant packing a pistol or revolver.
Manual or electric?
And is it red, by any chance?
Right with you. I've got one under the bed.
Good luck!
In a surprize situation where you there no warning, both parties have no idea what will happen.
If your armed invader has the intention of murdering you, then there is probably nothing that you can do about it. Premeditated murder is, by definition, well planned and any defense you attempt, will be breached.
For a typical home invader that was expecting to rob some defenseless old man, my sword would be more effective than anything he could imagine!
Just that flash of steal, even if his head remained attached, would put the fear of GOD into him.
Yo' Mama-san!!
Good luck!

As with any combat situation, the person who runs first, will die first!
"But here in Minnesota, everyone's a victim."
Isn't that the sad truth? Makes me sick.
Holy shiite, best story of the day!!!!
'Tis but a flesh wound...
