This year, we are told, the Muslim commemorations associated with their calendar date 27 Rajab will occur on August 22...

As Spencer continues, “a nuclear attack on Jerusalem or even an all-out conventional assault against Israel by Iran would be consistent with Ahmadinejad’s oft-repeated denials of Israel’s right to exist and recent predictions that its demise was at hand.” These observations are the latest from a growing list of ominous portents from Iranian and Syrian leaders too horrific to ignore.

This fighting in Lebanon and Iraq must be a lot like the fighting in Viet Nam where you don't really know who is the enemy. It must be very different than fighting a uniformed organized foreign army across a defined front.

All I know for sure is that I plan to spend August 22nd at home.

If it is to be the "end of the world" ... then spending the morning playing with my children would be a good way to live my last few hours. If it's just another summer day, it's still a good way to spend those hours.

If it's something big, but short of Armageddon, then being away from a major population center like Boston is prudent to say the least. Remember, the only defense against an atomic bomb is to not be there when it goes off.

Predictably, my invitation has received no response from this individual as of yet. These types don't ordinarily respond to real Marines because then their false facade will be torn down as soon as they open their lying mouths. They find it easy to get by with the liberal application of "BS" when dealing with civilians who have no actual knowledge of military organizations or how they function and they use this pathetic charade to elicit the thanks and accolades that you have traditionally extended to veterans.

On August 21st I am buying tons of junk food just to be prepared.
