When Tim LaHaye talks, the faithful listenby the millions. The conservative Protestant minister is the coauthor of the wildly popular apocalyptic Left Behind novels. The controversial books, which have sold more than 60 million copies, depict the biblical end of the world: the Christian eschatology of the upheaval that precedes the second coming of Jesus Christ, known also as end times. LaHaye recently spoke with NEWSWEEKs Brian Braiker about why he believes the events currently unfolding in the Middle East reflect biblical prophesy.

Probably the best posture in an environment that can quite heated. But, if you'd like to whisper your opinions in my ear, I won't jump all over you.
:o)
I read that article and I agree and have thought this many times that Islam could be the beast. I used to go to a website called beastwatch. no longer available, and the guy that ran that site said the same thing. They kill you and think they are doing god a service. I will keep reading , good post.
Jesus said we could know whether someone was of the devil or of God by one test:
Did they believe that Jesus came in the flesh; died, rose again etc.
Tim LaHaye believes all the basic doctrines.
He does not claim to be any kind of prophet at all.
I only read the last of the series. But I recognized in the authors folks who Love Jesus and who Love people. Christ summed up the law in those two values.
I wouldn't dare call such Servants of the Most High God false prophets.
Another thing to consider is that the preterists may be right, in that the prophesy in Matthew refers to the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem by the Romans, which did occur before that generation passed away.
Not unless the Bible is wrong...Just an example:
Mat 24:21 For there shall be then great tribulation, such as hath not been from the beginning of the world until now, neither shall be.
The destruction of Jerusalem was worse than the Flood??? How about WWI or WWII and Viet Nam, Korean War...Six million Jews at the Holocaust...How about the destruction of Carthage under Scipio??? What about the destruction of Kiev under Ghengis Khan??? The Crusades???...Atom Bombs in Japan???
With out reading the whole thread can you tell me. Has anyone answered the question at the top of the thread yet? Is it "yes" or "no" or my personal favorite right now, "I don't know"?
BTW I still have to read your whole post, let alone the thread yet, so I'll try to give you feedback on it when I am done.
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

For some reason, it persistently amazes me that those ranting and trashing and thrashing about THE RAPTURE rarely, if ever, offer any meaningful explanation of those verses and their likely future meaning.
I guess it fulfills their agenda sufficiently to just rant, thrash, trash, pontificate and otherwise dismiss others' views on such. No insights or ideas are needed. Kind of reminds me of the DIMRATS.
But one would think that at least occasionally there would be more of an earnest effort to try and understand what the meaning of those verses is, if it's not the conventional END TIMES one! LOL.
I guess some Scriptures are just not worth some people's time.
Actually, I've, by God's Grace, been able to interest a lot of folks in Christianity via END TIMES PROPHECY to the point that some have become believers--committed, discipled, lasting believers.
Amazingly some secular 'nothing' in terms of religion or spirituality types have MORE OF AN ALERTNESS AND AWARENESS that
we ARE living in dramatic un paralleled times than many long churched folks do.
Odd that. Have you not seen such?
Billdo Dillbo Klintoon is STILL LOBBYING HARD to become king of the world via the UN. And SHRILLERY IS STILL working very hard to become QUEEN OF NORTHAM, if not WESTHEM.
Power mongering knows no bounds. They'd probably like to hand the world to the AC on a golden platter personally. They probably vainly imagine they'll survive the initial purges.
And then Scripture speaks of the 7 Spirits of God.
. . . whatever that refers to.
If there were TRULY 0.0000% support in Scripture for differing interpretations and perspectives,
there probably would at least be fewer to none of them.
I tend to think of these things as prompting you to think and examine, not as trying to tell what definitively is or shall be.

I think that's precisely what LaHaye is doing. There will be tens of thousands of Believers in Heaven Eternally because of the series. PTL.
And bless LaHaye all the way to as many banks as it takes to hold his money.
Yeah, lots of people are mistaken all over the water front! LOL.
And, it isn't the State God is intent on establishing fully IN HIM. But it's a lot closer than it was during WWII.
Many threads do. And sometimes the old RM could be goaded or some such into seeming to take that stance.
But, imho, the Roman brothers and sisters take a lot more rubbish than they dish out.
God declares early in Scripture that HE CREATED MAN FOR FELLOWSHIP, RELATIONSHIP.
GOD HIMSELF CHOSE
that dialogue with those who truly loved Him could and would move His heart and His hand. That's part of what RELATIONSHIP is about.
In any case, it's part of God's design, HIS DESIRES.
I personally find it exceedingly fitting that God gets what God wants.
Sometimes, it seems to come off as a major doctrine of the faith. LOL.
But actually, I think it's only a doctrine of man; a tradition of man; a social custom.
So, what do you tell them? For some, the reality of Hell, or of the end times, may be the only thing that moves them.
Adrian Rogers used to say, "I'd rather scare you into Heaven than love you into Hell." Don't take that out of context, now - Dr. Rogers preached the love and grace of God for decades. That quote was just one way of saying that fear may be a motivator for those who don't respond to love.

Great points, imho.
Thanks
