An interesting note on this flight. It is a Sunday/holiday only scheduled flight. It has flown every Sunday EXCEPT last Sunday. Flight log
Not sure if there is any significance to that, but...
THANK YOU Right_Handed_Writer.
I'm glad your flight was non-eventful.

Iran fires long-range missile from submarine
By JPOST.COM STAFF
Iran successfully test-fired a submarine-launched long-range missile in the Persian Gulf, Iranian state television reported on Sunday.
The test was part of a continuing series of military exercises the Islamic Republic began earlier this month.
Now this is NOT nice.

americancer
This just came in to the Hate Mail Bag, which has been bulging lately but alas, I have been too busy to post some of the choicest missives. This one's subject line was "hate mongering."
Do you really believe that muslims want to conquer americancer and rule it by sharia law? Muslims at large would be satisfied if they themselves could live under Islamic sharia. Muslims that migrate to the west hate islam, they dont want to spread it whether they accept it or not.
I think you know this already. Your just spreading hate, and lies to serve your agenda. Whatever it is.
It constantly amuses me that people say I'm lying about Islam without being able to produce even a single actual lie. But anyway, I answered in this way:
You call it "americancer" and then accuse me of hate mongering?
You are over-generalizing. Not all Muslims in the West hate Islam, and not all Muslims in the West want Sharia.
I think you know this already. You're just spreading hate, and lies to serve your agenda. Whatever that is.

"Michigan Seen as Home to Criminal Conspiracy to Fund Hezbollah"
August 24, 2006
Vox Populi, Jim Kouri
by Jim Kouri, CPP
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "While Rep. John Dingell, a Michigan Democrat, proclaimed himself neutral I dont take sides for or against Hezbollah; I dont take sides for or against Israel, he said there appears to be problems of Hezbollah activities within his own backyard.
A Dearborn Heights MI, man pleaded guilty on Wednesday to charges of conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) and using illegally obtained funds to help finance the terrorist group Hezbollah.
Youssef Aoun Bakri, 36, pleaded guilty in federal court as he stood before US District Judge Gerald E. Rosen. The original indictment charged Bakri and other defendants with: operating a criminal enterprise to traffic in contraband cigarettes and counterfeit goods, producing counterfeit cigarette tax stamps, and laundering money.
Most troubling was the fact that some of the profits made from the illegal enterprise were given to Hezbollah, a designated foreign terrorist organization (DFTO), according to the indictment."

Three Coalition Force Soldiers Injured, Insurgents Detained
American Forces Press Service
WASHINGTON, Aug. 27, 2006 Three coalition force soldiers were injured in a weapons accident at Camp Echo, Iraq, yesterday. Meanwhile, a hostage was released based on a tip and nine suspected insurgents were detained in three separate incidents on Aug 23, according to officials in Iraq.
One American and two Polish soldiers wounded in the Camp Echo incident early yesterday morning were treated immediately at the base military hospital. The American soldier and one of the Polish soldiers were transported to the military hospital in Baghdad for further treatment, and their status was listed as stable yesterday, officials said.
The incident is under investigation.
In other news, Multinational Division Baghdad soldiers freed a local national being held against his will in western Baghdads Salman Pak neighborhood Aug. 24.
Soldiers from Troop B, 1st Squadron, 61st Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, received a tip concerning illegal activity at the local gas station.
After cordoning off and searching the gas station, soldiers found an Iraqi civilian in an outbuilding that was secured from the outside. The hostage was freed and taken to a secure location, where he provided the names for 21 terrorists in the area. The names were then provided to the 4th Brigade, 1st National Police Division.
Iraqi authorities are investigating the incident.
Elsewhere in Iraq, Iraqi army and security forces, with coalition forces observing, conducted multiple early-morning raids Aug. 23, capturing three primary suspects associated with emplacing roadside bombs and participating in illegal arms groups.
The first raid netted a person suspected of emplacing roadside bombs and targeting U.S. military personnel in Ramadi. The raid was conducted without incident and five other persons were detained for questioning, officials said.
The second raid resulted in the capture of two people who allegedly belonged to a cell that engaged in promoting sectarian violence through kidnapping and murder in southern Baghdad. The raid, conducted as part of Operation Together Forward, occurred without further incident.
No civilian, Iraqi forces or coalition forces were injured during the operations.
The same day, a patrol from 2nd Tank Brigade, 9th Iraqi Army Divisions Military Transition Team, captured a suspected terrorist after their patrol struck a roadside bomb north of Baghdad, officials said.
The 2nd Brigade, 9th Iraqi Army Division advisors requested attack aviation support to provide aerial reconnaissance. An attack helicopter from the Combat Aviation Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, identified a possible triggermans hiding site.
The patrol searched the area and seized a suspected terrorist.
The damaged vehicle was hauled back to Camp Taji, where the patrol returned with the detainee who was being held for further questioning.

N. Korea Says It Conducted Large-Scale Blast Op For Waterway
SEOUL, Aug 28 Asia Pulse - North Korea said Sunday it conducted a large-scale blast operation two days ago for a waterway project.
The operation was carried out on Friday in a reservoir at Goksan county of Hwanghae province near the border with the South's Gangwon province, the North's Korean Central Broadcasting Station reported.
"The large-scale blast operation paves the way for the completion of the Risang Reservoir Project earlier than scheduled," the broadcaster said.
On Aug. 18, U.S.-based ABC News, citing unidentified U.S. officials, reported North Korea may be preparing to conduct its first underground nuclear test.
Immediately after the report, however, South Korean Unification Minister Lee Jong-seok told lawmakers on Aug. 19 he hadn't heard of any new evidence that North Korea is making such preparations.

Can you tell from that site that has the logs if the pilot was new?
From this post/article; it was noted just a bit as to the pilot's experience:

just wondering if the 'rumor' could be true - that the regular pilot called in sick - also added to the mix is they have just re-configured those runways.
