There are now a total of four with the new one in Dallas, Oregon (north of Salem). I'll see if I can find a link.
Well, under the circumstances, I hope Amar is a little understanding. Sheesh. Thanks for the links MamaD.

"Irish airports are the weak link"
By Cormac OKeeffe
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "THERE are growing concerns within the Irish intelligence services that Islamic terrorists could hijack Irish flights bound for Britain.
The intelligence agencies are believed to have expressed their concerns to the Government, but it is not clear what action has been taken.
Their fears have grown following the apparent terrorist bomb plot in London involving up to 10 transatlantic flights.
Theres perceived to be a low level of security here, and there is a concern that Ireland might be a stepping stone to Britain or elsewhere in Europe, said one intelligence source."
SALEM, Ore. - The Salem Police Department is warning drivers to check their vehicles carefully for pipe bombs and/or wires that may be attached.
The warning comes one day after four pipe bombs were found in four different locations in the Salem/Dallas area.
According to the Salem Police Department, investigators believe all four pipe bombs were constructed by the same person or persons.

Tyco Factory in Dallas Evacuated Over Fourth Bomb
Salem-News.com
Four bombs were discovered in the Mid-Willamette Valley Thursday, the latest being found in the Tyco factory parking lot in Dallas.
Salem-News.com
(DALLAS) - All employees of the Dallas Tyco factory have been evacuated over the reported finding of a suspected explosive device.
Dallas Police Chief James Harper told Salem-News.com that the device was found very close to a parked car by an employee in the Tyco parking lot around 7:45 PM.
"It is an unusual day in Dallas like it is in the rest of the world." Harper says Oregon State Police sent a bomb team out to the Tyco factory. Officers evacuated the employees and established a perimeter, "Their bomb team rendered the device safe. Now we are continuing the investigation and evaluating the scene."
This is the fourth reported incident involving the discovery of an explosive device in the Mid-Willamette Valley Thursday. Police bomb squads from Salem and the state police responded to three separate locations in Salem throughout the day.
An OSP bomb team working with county deputies detonated one bomb at the Roth's IGA store on Lancaster Drive NE, while Salem bomb team members diffused one at Salem Hospital, and disrupted the second bomb in a South Salem neighborhood on Woodland Drive.
Chief Harper ecnoes comments made by other law enforcement officials on a day when the mid-valley suddenly became much more dangerous, "Anybody who sees anything that appears unusual should clear the area and call Oregon State Police or their local law enforcement agency."
I wonder if the elf/alf guys are upset about something?
I wonder what this pipe bomb incidents in Oregon is all about?
Wonder how many of those women are here "visiting" the USA?
Snip: The INS, however, had not learned the lesson from the Iranian hostage crisis in 1979, when President Carter considered the possibility of retaliating by expelling all the Iranian students then enrolled in American colleges and universities. He too wished to know how many such students would be affected. The INS could not provide that number during the entire 444 days of the crisis. And the INS still has no way of determining how many foreign students are present in the United States.
Number of US Visas issued to Saudis doubles
Snip: In an e-mail to the Post, Amanda D. Rogers-Harper, a spokeswoman for the US State Department, confirmed that as of June 10, a total of 18,683 non-immigrant US visas had been issued to Saudi citizens since the start of the current fiscal year.
"This," she noted, "is twice as many as the 9,338 issuances to Saudis" in the corresponding period last year, marking an increase of over 100 percent in just the past 12 months.
Be safe - don't put yourself in jeopardy. Having a camera phone would be ideal at times like that. The fact they were speaking in Arabic would rattle my chain as well. You might want to carry one of those tiny recorders (they use answering machine tapes) and see if you can copy any of their conversation (if they are speaking loud enough for you to hear them). But then again who would be able to translate it for you?
It is a downright frightening world. Doesn't help that our country has doubled the number of ME type visas into the USA this past year, especially in view of the potential danger to us if any of these people are "fanatics." It would be interesting to know what sites they "visited" on the internet, wouldn't it? Bottom line: be careful JP!

Two Men Try To Buy Multiple Cell Phones In Ithaca
wnem tv5 ^ | Aug 11, 2006 04:18 PM CDT | WNEM TV5
Posted on 08/11/2006 10:28:49 PM PDT by DannyTN
(TV5) -- While FBI agents pour into Caro another incident breaks out in Gratiot County. At approximately 11:35am August 11th police were called to the Dollar General Store in Ithaca after a" clerk in Ithaca became suspicious after two men came into the store, and became upset when they were turned down while trying to buy several disposal cell phones.
TV5's Mike Terry spoke with the clerk who called police. She said they were two "Middle Eastern" men and said they've been coming into the store weekly and buying disposable cell phones. She said the same thing was happening at the dollar general store in Alma.
You might think the clerk became suspicious because of what was going on in Caro but when we asked the clerk she said she wasn't even aware of what was going on.
The policy at their store is that they can only sell two cell phones, per person, per day. She saw the men put the phones in the trunk of the car and when she thought they were coming back in, she called 9-1-1.
We did talk to Ithaca police while there has been no crime committed-they do want to find these men, and run their names against government watch lists.

"Blame our establishment for appeasing these extremists"
By MELANIE PHILLIPS, Daily Mail09:01am 5th July 2006
Reader comments (15)
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "But this doesn't follow at all. Indeed, the Populus poll revealed that more than half of all British Muslims want the Government to do much more to root out the extremism being practised in the name of their religion.
It is beyond belief, for example, that what is hailed as the biggest mosque in Europe is planned to be built on the East London site of the Olympic village and it is being funded by the Tablighi Jamaat, said by the FBI and French intelligence to be the biggest recruiters for Al Qaeda in Europe.
Recruitment
It is beyond belief that nothing is being done to stop the recruitment and incitement to violence taking place not just in mosques and madrassas but on campuses, in youth clubs and in prisons.
It was concern over the depth of Britain's denial that caused me to write my book Londonistan which was almost not published in Britain because publishers thought it was not 'politically correct' precisely to sound the alarm over a widespread state of denial which, if unchecked, will have deadly consequences."

"Al-Qaeda clone takes root in the US"
By B Raman in the Asian Times
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "The 41-count charge sheet, or indictment as it is called in the US, charged the 11 accused with conspiracy, firearms violations and plotting against a friendly nation - namely, India. US officials connected with the investigation were quoted by the media as saying that there was no evidence that the accused were considering an attack within the US or had ties to al-Qaeda. And officials were careful not to describe the group as a "sleeper cell" - a term used to characterize suspected terrorist supporters in Lackawanna, NY, Seattle and elsewhere arrested last year, some of whom were connected with the Tablighi Jamaat (TJ) of Pakistan.
However, the officials charged that the men conspired to help Muslims abroad in violent jihad not only in India, but also in Chechnya, the Philippines and other countries. The men, the charge sheet said, obtained AK-47s and other high-powered weaponry and practiced small-unit military tactics in Virginia."

Coalition Blunts Attack on Afghan Base; 15 Enemy Fighters Die
American Forces Press Service
WASHINGTON, Aug. 10, 2006 Coalition soldiers killed 15 extremists Aug. 8 during a firefight at a provincial reconstruction team base in the Kamdesh district of Afghanistans Nuristan province, military officials reported.
Two U.S. soldiers and one Afghan policeman suffered minor wounds when 30 insurgents attacked the base with small arms and rockets. Coalition forces responded with small arms and mortars. The wounded soldiers and police officer were treated on the scene and returned to duty. The coalition base was not damaged.
These extremists will never succeed in overcoming coalition and Afghan security forces, Army Col. Thomas Collins, a coalition spokesman, said in a news release. We will prevail because the Afghan people have demonstrated that they want a stable and prosperous country.
Elsewhere, Afghan and coalition troops found a weapons cache and two explosive devices Aug. 8 in eastern Afghanistan. A coalition unit discovered and destroyed the weapons cache, consisting of 200 rockets, hidden in a cave in the Kohi Safi district of Parwan province.
Afghan police found an improvised explosive device in the Asadabad district of Kunar province, and Afghan soldiers found a landmine that had washed up onto a road in Khost province. Coalition teams destroyed both weapons in place.
These weapons will no longer be a threat to the lives of Afghan civilians, Collins said. We will continue working alongside Afghan security forces to remove these types of deadly weapons wherever we find them to ensure a peaceful existence for the Afghan people.
Also on Aug. 8, five passengers walked away largely unharmed from a roadside bomb blast that destroyed their up-armored Humvee.
Up-armored Humvees have saved many coalition lives in Afghanistan, officials said. The comments were in response to recent news reports contending that forces there need more of the vehicles and arent using them consistently.
In other news from Afghanistan, Afghan police in Regional Command South received 36 new motorcycles Aug. 8.
The motorcycles will help us follow insurgents and Taliban, regional police commander Gen. Esmatullah Dawlatzai said.
We thank the international community for helping us with equipment and educating our police force, he added.
Combined Security Transition Command Afghanistan, which assists the Afghan government in manning, training and equipping its security forces, helped obtain the motorcycles.
These motorcycles will enhance the (Afghan National Polices) mobility and will allow them to react to threats and better conduct their job, said Army Lt. Col. Donald Carr, deputy chief of resources for the commands Police Reform Directorate.
