BTW, my family has a "bottle" of water from the River Jordan that my grandmother brought back years ago; we baptize all our babies with it.

Al Sistani is the "moderate" Shiite cleric who is seen as a calming force in the country--I believe he helped tamp down Sadr's rebellion in the eastern region in Iraq.
Everyone needs to realize, no Arab country likes Israel. They are brought up on hating Israel. So this is understandable. Israel is not going to get an allie out of Iraq any more than out of Turkey.
