Excerpt -

The UN Security Council on Wednesday agreed to issue a statement condemning an attack by Israel on a UN observer post in Lebanon which left four peacekeepers dead, diplomats said.

But the United States refused to agree a Security Council presidential statement demanded by China which said the attack was "apparently deliberate", diplomats said.

It's very simple, really.
Use "peacekeepers" as spotters or as spies and they die.

They have already made up their minds. Case closed. And they want Israel to agree to an expanded UN role in southern Lebanon? When hell freezes over.

A presidential statement has to be passed unanimously but, unlike a Security Council resolution, has no binding nature.

In other words, it is worthless. Not that a resolution is (especially those that are not enforced, which none of this would have happened had Resolution 1559 been enforced).

How on earth can they know it was deliberate?

Apparently facts don't matter to Kofi who knew that the resolutions in Lebanon weren't being enforced, but did nothing to change the facts on the ground about that.

And the UN reported today that Hezbollah targeted peacekeepers; will there be similar condemnation of that?

This morning, Hezbollah opened small arms fire at a UNIFIL convoy consisting of two armored personnel carriers (APC) on the road between Kunin and Bint Jubayl. There was some damage to the APCs, but no casualties, and the convoy was obliged to return to Kunin.

The hit was deliberate. No kidding.

Israel is seldom fooled ........... the U.N. was doing something with the bad guys that needed to be hit.

Too damn bad........ I feel sorry for the individuals but the UN is guilty.

Are they saying that their sandwiches are "good to go"? No?
Hmm, that arm motion looks awfully familiar.

If the UN put half as much effort into condemning muslim terrorism as they do condemning Israel, they just might accomplish something worthwhile.

My take on this is...

Yes, it was deliberate... but only on Kofi's part.

He placed them their deliberately so it would be propaganda fodder for the MSM.

Mission accomplished.

It is very difficult to miss them, poor sitting ducks at :
33° 19' 05.34N 35° 36' 25.13E Google Earth, all painted in white! You're talking about PGM's and laser guided missiles? or free fall bombs from B-17's?
These people do not belong to the UNIFIL, but to the UNTSO, present there from the good old sixties of Hippies and Peace.

Emperor-of-Terrorists, Rapists, Slavers and Murderers:
" I personally told the four United Nations peacekeepers, taken out accidently in an Israeli retaliation
for their missile-attacks, that they were required to stay at their Hizb'allah (terrorist) post,
until I personally gave them permission to withdraw. Who cares?
"I never cared when they fired missiles at civilians. Who cares?
"I never cared when they worked with terrorists gathering intel. Who cares?
"I never cared when UN-protected Islamic terrorists built impenetrable underground bunkers. Who cares?
"I never cared when built buildings for, and protected, Islamic terrorists. Who cares?
"I never cared when UN-protected Islamic terrorists stockpiled offensive missiles. Who cares?
"I never cared when UN-protected Islamic terrorists used civilian domiciles to house weapons launchers
and thus endanger the local citizenry. Who cares?
"I never cared when UN-protected Islamic missiles murdered Israeli women and children. Who cares?
"I never cared when UN-protected Islamic terrorists murdered people in America, England, Spain, France or India. Who cares?
"I never cared when UN-personel raped little girls in Africa. Who cares?
"I never cared when UN-protected Islamic terrorists enslaved hundreds of thousands of children in Africa or anywhere else. Who cares?
You might as,, "Why are we in the UN so FOR murder, FOR slavery,
FOR rape by UN officers, and FOR any form of corruption that comes to us, especially me and my family.
The answer is: Because without the bloody murder of innocents, without terrorism and slavery,
rape and graft, we are absolutely nothing. We defend terrorists. Therefore, we exist."

During the development to 'Kofi Annan's War', his UN-War criminals
developed a long, proven history working with, helping, and defending Hizb'allah terrorists
who were busy murdering civilians - Christians, Jews, and Americans, even bombing
Marine barracks and US embassies.

Note -- and remember -- this photo where both the UN and Hizb'allah terrorist flags fly together.

I invite Koffing Anus and nearly all of the UN to do an anatomically impossible act - it'll speed their already-booked trip to Hell.

There are only 2 possibilities here:

1) This was either a "fog of war" accident - and what nation which has fought a war has never had a "friendly fire" incident? - in which case it is a horrible tragedy, but hardly a deliberate act. By the way, the moral and legal blame for all deaths in a war of aggression rest with the aggressor. I didn't notice that Israel had gone across the Lebanese border to kidnap Hezzies, nor that it had indiscriminately bombarded Lebanese cities with missiles full of ball bearing, the only purpose of which is to inflict random and severe casualties on civilians. Guess who's to blame, since there'd have been no war without Hezbollah's calculated actions?

2) It was done purposely for a very good reason. Given that the UNIFIL "observers" have, over the years, accepted money to help Hezbollah kidnap Israelis, has warned Hezbollah about the approach of Israeli patrols, has acted as spotters for Hezzie artillery, etc., it wouldn't surprise me in the least if this post was being used to help the Hezzies in this conflict. If that's the case, then the UNIFIL people brought this upon themselves.

Either it is an accident - in which case it is not deserving of a condemnation like this - or UNIFIL deserved it, in which case the UN should STFU.

'How on earth can they know it was deliberate?'

Whatever bad happens to chicoms they consider deliberate unless proven otherwise. On the other hand, their presence in Lebanon's UNIFIL is purely accidental.
