We were in Wal Mart several years ago, and a light bulb exploded above us. Tiny, tiny shards landed on my 10 yo son's head. He was jumping around, shaking his head, yelling, "ow Mom that's hot!" He has thick curly hair and I couldn't see any shards or burns (though you could smell burned hair). Our newborn was a few rows over with my husband. face up in a baby carrier. The bulb would have landed in his eyes had he been with me. I notified the manager, who asked me if I thought he needed medical treatment. My answer was no, as my son wasn't injured.

We only have the mom's say-so as to what happened, and how far away she was. For all we know, she could have pushed the mirror over on the kid herself, so that she could sue the deep-pockets-company. Get her on a lie detector and grill her. Hard. You forgot the "/sarc".

Well said! My younger sister-in-law was the favorite aunt. She was an awesome babysitter for her brothers and sister. Even with some of the more difficult nephews. She would not put up with anything. Then, she had two children of her own. She calls my husband sometimes and seems shocked by some of the things her children try to get away with.

Your poor friend! (I bet I know which steakhouse.)
I've had eventful meals, but I have NEVER had a marsupial fall on my head. I'm assuming it was a stuffed kangaroo . . . how big do those things get?

So I'm sorry until you've lived that life you need to realize your station and stop giving advice on something you're clearly not familiar with! My daughter was "pinged" to confirm how she was raised and got sucked into the debate. Got a problem with that?

You are right. Anything can happen anytime. I watch ours assuming the worst can happen.

I've had eventful meals, but I have NEVER had a marsupial fall on my head. LOL! Is that a marsupial on your head, or are you just glad to see me?

You are right. Anything can happen anytime. I watch ours assuming the worst can happen. Look out. You will be defamed by other posters for speaking common sense, accused of picking on this Mom in the face of tragedy etc. Parental common sense is an awful thing on this thread. It's "egotistical"

You are one miserable excuse for a human being. You are a jerk. You have a right to your opinion about me, don't you?
To: DJ MacWoW
Huh? Seriously. The story says that it's based purely on what the mom reported. How do we know what really occurred?
To: ShandaLear; Darkchylde
I really doubt it. Keep reading. One of my innocent child victims joined the thread. I made her life a misery by protecting her. *rolling eyes*

Apologies for the Gender confusion ( side effect of Internet conversation)...
Your daughter is more than welcome to dispense all the useless, baseless, and meaningless advice someone who has no real firsthand understanding of a subject wants to (thats another side effect of the Internet)..

I think our drive toward logic is a reaction to the Democrats' removing logic completely from their decision calculus.
At least, mine was. When I realized that liberal ideology is at odds with provable fact, I had to become conservative.
Let's face it . . . no one does icky womanish touchy-feely like the lefties. NO one.

"True. But some did show immediate concern for Walmart's rising prices and falling profits, which is creepy, IMO."
I totally agree. And I will add that this is the kind of attitude that make conservatives look like heartless, moeny grubbing Scrooges.
