The moment an elected politician attacks the public statements of a private citizen, referring to him by name, then said politician is really saying,

I think he made a cheat shot at the Democrats, pointing out their hypocrisy. Likely a comment on the Dean statement that if the Democrats were in power, the war in Israel wouldn't be happening.
