As one who would never use the word in a million years, I think the President's characterization of what Hezbollah is doing is actually quite accurate. What interests me the most about that unguarded moment, is that he is exactly the same in private as he is in public (once again revealed), only slightly more..........shall we say, blunt?

I totally agree. I actually heard Rush say that wouldn't be surprised that they knew that the mic was on. :)

Congrats on your within.10 win!

Thanks- doesn't happen a lot but I'm glad it does. Really, I love this thread even if I'm #200.

Condi looks tired in some of these pictures, or maybe upset? The Middle east could easily do that to Sec of State.

Odd, a couple of pictures I didn't like this time, and I usually ALWAYS like pictures of the President and First Lady, especially when they're together. This thread usually gives me a warm fuzzy.

Maybe it's my frame of my at the moment, but the picture of the President on his bike, and to a lesser degree, the pictures of the First Lady, un-fuzzed me.

To preface, let me say that my Bell Star helmet probably saved my life more than once in various motorcycle accidents, and I'm a big proponent of (voluntary) helmet-wearing on two-wheeled conveyances. Besides the fact that people who ride motorbikes are a bit "off" to begin with, the ones who do so without helmets are often too stupid to live.

But unlike bicycle helmets, my helmet was full-faced with mirrored visor, bright yellow, and way cool.

Today's bicycle helmets are just Dorky. I won't go so far as to use that word about the President, but you'd think the leader of the free world could have someone make a "cool" bicycle helmet for him.

Maybe an aerodynamic monocoque racing style painted red, white, and blue.

Even better, maybe he could wear one of the new style kevlar U.S. Army helmets, or tank crew helmet, if they even exist anymore. Now that would be cool, and I bet the troops would love it.

Here comes the heresy.

When I first saw the bicycle picture, I thought "What idiot posted a picture of Al Franken on this thread? Warm up the zot machine for this bozo".

Is the President wearing those rubberized sports eyeglasses in that picture? He's almost unrecognizable!

Maybe I'm the one that needs a new glasses prescription. Maybe I need to get my meds adjusted. Radically. Up the voltage. Whatever. I dunno. I just didn't like the picture.

Sticking with the mal-adjusted meds theory, I didn't like any of the pictures with the First Lady in a pants suit.

a) Laura Bush looks GREAT in a skirt.

b) I had just seen another thread which featured a picture of an unmentionable former First Lady in a white pants suit.

c) Flashbacks of Old Crusty.

I'm not "connecting the dots" or anything like that. I just don't want to see Laura Bush wearing pants suits. It gives me a feeling of anxious malaise.

I heard Rush say that, but I don't think so.

I think he's just the same in private as he is in public, only less 'guarded.'

Remember when that 'friend' of his revealed his secret tapes, and the media was panting as they awaited this revelation of the secret Bush.............and he was the same good man in private as he is in public.

I think it ended the good name of the 'friend' though.....

Definitely. I would think that Chirac felt somewhat uncomfortable at this summit!

The Middle east could easily do that to Sec of State. There must be a lot going on behind the scenes that we don't know about. I am sure she is under a lot of stress. But I am sure she is on top of it. We are fortunate to have her as our Secretary of State.

I agree with you. I don't think they knew they were being overheard--I just thought it was interesting that Rush was making that point.

One of the wonderful things about GWB is he is who he is. He has a firm foundation. Perhaps he was less guarded with PM Blair, but I really don't think anyone would really hold that against him. If you and I can not get upset with him for his language, there can't be too many others who would! :)I don't think there was anything to apologize for.

I do remember that tape incident. I don't suspect that friend has been at the WH lately!

I commented earlier that the photo of GWB on the bike is one of my least favorite photos of him ever!

Oh, and I forgot.

Putin still looks like a rat-man. Or ferret. Or weasel.

Or some other vicious varmint that you wouldn't want to turn your back on.

He makes me want to dial 1-800-CritterMan for pest elimination.

I think he's just the same in private as he is in public, only less 'guarded.'I think so too and that is one reason I like him. I was disgusted with Nixon's profanity in private. Nixon certainly was not the same in private as he was in public. But I am sure President is the same in private because of his good character.
