There's a difference between having the power and using the power. I don't believe God micromanages His children's lives. I believe he knows what will happen in all cases, but not that he is always the cause of it.

Each person chooses for himself and the consequences of that choice happen. I think this war has begun because of the evil decisions of violent men, not because God wanted a war.

I think this is the war prophesied in Ezekiel 38. If it is not, it is certainly setting the stage for it.
