I wonder if Syria will hold those tourists hostage?
I have to run out but will check the thread later.

Last night on John Batchelor's show..there was a man named Aaron that was reporting from Israel...and John Loftus...one of them said that the "goal" in the last week was to kidnap as many Israeli troops as possible by Hezbollah and Hamas...to USE.
I got the impression that "order" still stands...I hope it doesn't spread to Americans in Iraq.

I agree.
I don't apologize for this being (in part) about oil. The first Gulf War was about oil. Oil runs the world. Whoever controls oil, controls the world.
I prefer the United States and its allies in control.

I figured that would happen. The UN will deliberate for weeks over wording of a resolution on Iran or North Korea before it even comes for a vote. When Israel kicks butt, they manage to get a vote in a matter of hours. Not that the UN's opinion matters to Israel anyhow.
In the 1973 Arab-Israeli war, the media was reporting that Israel was getting beaten badly, but in reality, Israel was dominating the air and the ground. I think Sharon was one of the commanding generals at the time and they asked him why didn't they do something to stop the gloom and doom reporting in the US and world media. He answered that as long as the world thought Israel was losing, it kept them from taking action in the UN.
As this escalation continues, watch for the same kind of thing in the media. Don't believe everything they report about Israel.

Re post 764. Clinton foolishly thought he could broker peace in the middle east as his legacy. Propping up Islam in Europe was intended to bring muslims to the table.

Believe it or not...but, even though I had "read" the Bible in church..
MY love of the Jewish people developed when I started reading books by Leon Uris...they just told of the courage and strength..and all of the hard times.
His book "The Haj"...is the one that really clued me in on some of the thought processes of Arabs and Muslims...

Clinton foolishly thought he could broker peace in the middle east as his legacy. Propping up Islam in Europe was intended to bring muslims to the table. True. And the result has been to show the world that Islam is not conducive to democracy or the 21st century.

I think this is the war prophesied in Ezekiel 38. If it is not, it is certainly setting the stage for it.

I do believe it. Try reading Robin Wright's Sacred Rage. The book was written several years ago, but still an interesting insight. :0)

I'd be willing to bet that Israeli pilots have taken instruction in our country on how to land and take off from aircraft carriers.
It's not a matter of pilot training. It's a matter of equipment. You can't land an F15 or an F16 on an aircraft carrier at all. Carriers are much shorter than airfields, so carrier aircraft have to make particularly fast and hard landings. Naval aircraft have reinforced landing gears for this reason. However, F15s and F16s, not being carrier aircraft, do not have this equipment. If you landed one of these aircraft on a carrier, you'd snap the landing at a minimum, and if you're unlucky, you might break the back of the entire aircraft. They don't call carrier landings 'controlled crashes' just to be dramatic.
Again, it's possible such aircraft *may* be able to be modified to deal with carrier landings, but unless it's already been done, Israel doesn't have time to do it.
The simplest solution if Israel has trouble reaching Iranian targets is for the US to do it, or barring that, let IAF aircraft fly from our bases in Iraq.
