Reports coming in about IAF striking Beruit airport, if this is confirmed this is another sizable escalation. I think this article ought to be pinned.

The only militaries the Iraqi's could handle right now is the Salvation Army and the Old Navy, and even they would be dicey propositions

we've already said that if Israel is attacked we will come to her aid..When did we say that? We didn't get involved when they were attacked before. We have no mutual defense pact with them. We will not get involved militarily.

I believe so. If he had been returned I think we would have heard about it. But then again, if Israel say bombed an international airport in another country, I would think we would hear about it as well /sarc

In fact, while they were doing the interview in Lebanon you could hear the bombs going off pretty good. The reporter indicated Israel had just begun bombing Beruit Airport, which the reporter indicated they just flew into a few hours earlier. He indicated he had no idea how they were going to get home.
It was clear from beginning to end of the segment that the Israeli's were NOT fooling around at all (not even in the slightest).
The segment stressed that what was going on right now was the proverbial powder-keg having global implications.

a rocket has been fired against a town in north Israel.
I just saw tanks on CNN heading towards the libanese border.

I think we would if things started getting hairy for Israel, defense pact or no.

The Israelis are counting on the militant terrorists being left out in the cold, eventually, by their state sponsors. I think it's a wise and aggressive move, and am obviously fascinated by the developments.

Does anyone know if the first kidnapped soldier is still missing? That I don't know, there was some confusion. But a Learned Mother will help I'm certain.

"Interesting thought, ten years from now, but right now, Iraq does not have the ability to field an army in anything other than a defense position."
I was kinda hinting (badly as it turns out) that the Iraqi forces would be posing for the cameras appealing to the Arab sense of false pride. In the mean time the American "Advisors", you know a couple of mechanized infantry divisions full of advisors backed by CV battle groups in the Med, Red Sea and Persian gulf, USAF ground attack aircraft out of those Iraqi airbases and bombers from Diago Garcia and the lower 48 make short work out of the Syrian military.

Somehow, I would think Yossi Beilin would blame Israel. Just like Israel's Tenured Reds at Israeli universities.
