They're saying it was possibly a brake fire that caused the smoke and derailment...
Well, if we heard it from Fox, it must be true. Wasn't there another derailment somewhere just a few days back?
London was 7/7 in the year of 2005.
Madrid was 3/11 in the year of 2004.
Mumbai(Bombay) was today 7/11 this year 2006.
When's the last time this train derailed might be a good question?

It's Tuesday and rush hour and nothing else has happened so probably just an accident.

Yes, it can happen anywhere there is water in the soil.
London was 7/7. For some reason, I've noticed Al Qaeda (and their affiliates) bombings (which this appears to NOT be)... seem to happen in the first half of the month. 8/7/98, 10/12/00, 9/11/01, 10/12/02, 3/11/04, 7/7/05, 7/11/06 (Mumbai).
Well, I'm going to forget I read that, I still like the train!

Sure permafrost can do it, but any kind of groundwater can wash soil away and move it around. A major pit opened under one of the major city streets here last week where the permafrost was long gone. That was following some fairly heavy rain and a culvert that had failed letting the drainage get into the soil.
One woman on the train told Rogers what she witnessed. "There was an explosion -- some people said they heard an explosion, and there were, like, really strange sounds and the El stopped and then there was just smoke pouring into it," said one woman. "So, we opened the doors and we couldn't see anything. There was just smoke and we were just walking, hoping that someone knew where to go. "I think there was the car driver, in the lead of us, who was just directing us and we were just walking, trying to get out," she said. "I heard something -- I don't know if it was an explosion. I heard something that sounded like something skidding, almost, but it was really loud." "We just didn't know what was going on. The smoke was getting thicker, so we didn't know which way to go. It was really dark," she said.
Might have been the wheels falling off.
