Army?
|
Navy?
|
Why did you choose that particular branch?
|
Where did you go to Basic Training or Boot Camp?
What is the name of your unit? (Division?)
What is their (your) mascot?
Tell us how much you loved your DI!
How long were you at Boot Camp/Basic Training, before you questioned the parentage of the senior Drill Sergeant? How long were you in service before you realized that the instructors were right in all that they taught you? |
Your first landing on an aircraft carrier Your first parachute jump The heaviest vehicle you got to drive The largest weapon you got to use Did you serve before email? Did you have a personal nickname? |
It is our pleasure and honor to be here for our Troops, past, present and future... and especially during this Week, the 4th of July we remember that we owe our freedom to you. Thank you for your service and sacrifice, and God bless you.
A gentle reminder from Ms.B: Please, no politics in The Canteen. The Troops need a place to rest, relax and relate, and that place is The Canteen. Have fun and play nice! |

I'll bet you didn't doubt those words!
Exhausting and dangerous work!
Words never seem enough to give you, but they are all I have..
Thank you, for your service and sacrifice, and for keeping us free..
We know who the REAL heroes are..
God Bless you..

I have a big, ol' stainless steel belt buckle with dolphins welded to it and my name/rate engraved on it. I comshawed the buckle for one clip from a set of dolphins and a frozen package of shrimp. ( I wonder if the Shore Patrol is going to show up because I comshawed something. The Navy would fall apart and be totally useless to the USA without comshaw. )
My wife keeps it in a little shrine on the book case with all of my other memoribilia from the military.
I had absolutely no idea she had that stuff and had actually laid it all out for all the world to see.
When I pass the curio and see that buckle and those dolphins I want to go back.

Strange you should mention Marines. I have somehow always felt a camaraderie with Marines.

EGS
Ive aways had a bias toward them as most services hold toward one another.
As years went by and I actually got to work with them I found they are beyond reproach.
The finest we have.
Marines are taught to use thier heads.
taught to think and overcome overwelming odds
Im proud to have made their aquaintence
