Earlier, the same Angus Reid reported the results of the Zogby poll as 49% Arnold, 41% Angelides. I have to presume, that was in error and now it's correct. So it is a very tight race. How on earth did they come up with 49/41 is a mystery.

I posted that earlier thread:

LATEST POLL: California Gov.: Schwarzenegger 49%, Angelides 41%

And to prove I didn't make it up, nor was I delusional, here is the link to the Google Cache of the article.

Not a surprise. Not much of a choice -- a Democrat or a Democrat (RINO).

The GOP out here has been running a very effective TV spot about Angelides.

It has quote after quote from his democrat primary opponent labeling Angelides as wanting to "raise taxes on everybody" (which it turns out is the truth about this guy.)

If Arnie is smart he will let Angelides win. The next 4 years is going to be a no win situation for the governor of CA.

It's easy .. they just insert 11-14% more democrats and they can get any numbers they want.

Our own "Dr Deb" has exposed the drive-by's game in order to get the horrible polls which supposedly confirm their agenda.

I'd rather see Ahhnold back making movies where he knew what he was doing and the wife stayed away from the office.

Zogby Interactive polls are crap. They are internet polls of self-selected respondents that Zogby then screens to match the demographics that he thinks will be voting on election day. Why the Wall Street Journal gives Zogby a forum for his crap polls is a mystery.

It's Zogby so Arnold is guaranteed a win.

Is this a poll of likely voters or legal voters?

To be honest, I'm not particularly worried about this race, other than the fact that the Reagan supporters of old have either moved away or died.

Arnol Schwarzeneger is not all that popular, but Phil Angelides has not generated any enthusiasm at all.

I'm not a fan of Arnold. I voted for McClintock last time. However, I will be casting my vote for Arnold this year. Yes, Arnie is a RINO. Yes, I have major policy difference with him. However, at least Arnold is a check on the legislature. He is far more likely to block at least some of the left-wing agenda (gay marriage, drivers licenses for illegal immigrants, etc.,) than Angelides. With Angelides in office, the inmates will be running the asylum.

It's a Zogby poll. This is good news. Arnold is up at least 5-8% points based on how this poll was probably weighted.

The poll couldn't possibly include the illegals because there are more of them in southern California than all other groups combined. It's not the earthquakes that will cause California to sink into the ocean, its the extra weight of millions of illegals!

It has been rumored that Mexico and Central America rose two feet in the last 10 years!

NO THANK YOU!

I DON'T WISH TO BE UNDER COMMIE (and a card carrying one at that) RULE.

Why do you keep saying let Angelides win?

Can't you get it in your head that Angelides is just a front/dummy for SOROS?

If we let the state go to the commies 100% then California is finished...PERIOD.

If Ahnod lost, it's his own doing!!! Ahnold decided to p*ss all conservatives off with his all-star left leaning cabinet and agreed with liberal on more taxing... When Hugh Hewitt tried to get an answer from him a few weeks back, the guy just totally ducked...

If Arnie wins he no longer has to worry about re-election. Theoretically he could veto every bill until they agree to cut spending. What are they (unions etc) going to do to him? Ruin his re-election chances? Kill his chance to be elected president? If Arnie wins he is in an interesting position that no other candidate will ever be in. He has a successful career completely removed from politics to which he will return. The big question is will he suffer from the 'love me too' syndrome that so many politicians suffer from.

Side note - Angelides has no chance once everyone understands that his solution is to raise taxes on EVERYONE.

You do understand that without Arnold we would be dealing with Governor Bustamante right now? Arnold served his purpose. All I need is another term out of him before I can get the hell out of this state - Governor Villareconquista is coming.
