Miami, FL -- June 26, 2006 -- Roy Black, Rush Limbaugh's attorney, issued the following statement today in response to several inquiries by the media: While going through routine Customs inspection of luggage at Palm Beach International Airport upon his return from an international trip, Rush Limbaugh was detained by customs agents after they noticed a non-narcotic prescription drug, which had been prescribed by Mr. Limbaugh's treating physician but labeled as being issued to the physician rather than Mr. Limbaugh for privacy purposes. After a brief interview, Mr. Limbaugh was permitted to continue on his journey. Source: Roy Black
Ah yes, so once again we see that not only did someone in the press evidently fabricate a story about Rush, or at least stretched supposed facts, so many here on FR were willing to believe it at a moments notice.
It never ceases to amaze me how gullible so many people are, and in particular people who actually follow this stuff. You would think that after all the false headlines, the fabricated stories, the outright lies the MSM spews about anyone on the right that we all would know to take anything like this with a grain of salt first and wait for a legitimate source.
But no, that is not the case, not even here on Free Republic. Rush caught with drugs at the airport? And Viagra no less? Oh my GOD!! It's over!! Relapse, stupid, ignorant. Yup, sounds like Rush.
If I did not know better I would guess we had been infested by long term DU trolls.
Thanks for that news. Actually, the majority of posts have been suspecting the validity of the original story. Yah, a few jumped the shark. This is FR after all.
Mega Dittos!
The "long term DU trolls", is about right. Long term.
Long term trolls is exactly right and they are vicious when they think they have something and they REFUSE to let it go no matter what new evidence surfaces.
I must admit however, it did give me a bit of a scare.
Ditto to all that, and sheesh, Freepers, don't we learn anything? I read a lot about press bias here, but when we see another example of it **some** FReepers immediately assume the MSM has it right. Sheesh.
Now I never want to hear another peep from the media (CBS no less on this story) about phone and bank record privacy. One's medical records are even more private than those records == and CBS doesn't give that an ounce of consideration because they have an effective ideological opponent in their sites. Let's stand by our own.
