The Quinnipiac University telephone poll conducted last June 13 disclosed that Bob Casey's lead over Sen. Rick Santorum since October was 52% to 34% (with sampling error of +/- 3 percentage points). Santorum's job approval rating has also dropped to 38%.
Base on the poll results, Clay Richards (Quinnipiac poll assistant director) said, "Sen. Santorum appears to be his own worst enemy in his battle for re-election."

What could be harder than having yourself as your "own worst enemy!" Well, Santorum needs to walk an extra mile if he wants to be re-elected!

Santorum can probably still win, provided that he keeps his mouth shut and Casey self-destructs. Nonetheless, an incumbent who is at 34% is in deep, deep trouble, especially if he does not have a chief executive position (like governor or president).

They did a telephone poll on one day?
A poll of what, likely voters, registered voters, adults, people...?
I'm supposed to take this seriously because...?

Why are Santorums numbers so low? Personally I like him, not sure whats going on...
To: MAexile
Because, Clay Richards (Quinnipiac poll assistant director) says so.

Probably a telephone poll of retirees. (often synonymous with "democrat" in PA)
I was at work on the 13th.
I'll be voting for Rick.

I have the same question. About the only thing that I can think of was his support for Specter. How ironic it would be if Santorum lost while Specter won. How I wish it could be the other way around.
To: Echo Talon
Same here but it seems to be a dump the incumbent year. PA did that to its state reps and senators in the primaries. That and PA politics are influenced by scumbag breeding grounds in Philly and Pittsburgh.

They've been running the Casey for Amnesty ads this and last week. Rick should move up. This poll is from the 13th.

As a Texan I totally respect Santorum, a strong voice of right vs wrong, and besides sending him money, I hope that the rat goes down hard.
These are scary times.
It seems to me that we are in deep clinton as a nation.
I hope that those of you in Pennsylvania will get in gear to get him re-elected.

Do you think we just fell off the turnip truck, noob? Quin polls? Riiiiight.
So we subtract 3 points from Casey the faux-lifer, and add 3 points to Santorum, and we get a much more realistic 41 to 48. Expect Santorum's numbers to ramp up as he's just begun his media spots.
Expect Quin & Zogby to skews the results and Dr. Terry Madonna to "thoughtfully" weigh in, throwing just enough cover to conservatives as to appear "neutral". Business as usual in PA. The DNC has Santorum as their number one target. That tells everyone everything they need to know. Conservatives are still pouting now, but they'll come around in Nov.

Rick is also leading the way in this WMD issue too.
That should help him win back some of his base.
