Santorum can probably still win, provided that he keeps his mouth shut and Casey self-destructs. Nonetheless, an incumbent who is at 34% is in deep, deep trouble, especially if he does not have a chief executive position (like governor or president).
Why are Santorums numbers so low? Personally I like him, not sure whats going on...
Welcome to FR.
They've been running the Casey for Amnesty ads this and last week. Rick should move up. This poll is from the 13th.
Never trust a QU poll.
Never.
So we subtract 3 points from Casey the faux-lifer, and add 3 points to Santorum, and we get a much more realistic 41 to 48. Expect Santorum's numbers to ramp up as he's just begun his media spots.
Expect Quin & Zogby to skews the results and Dr. Terry Madonna to "thoughtfully" weigh in, throwing just enough cover to conservatives as to appear "neutral". Business as usual in PA. The DNC has Santorum as their number one target. That tells everyone everything they need to know. Conservatives are still pouting now, but they'll come around in Nov.
I wouldn't lose to much sleep over a Quinniapac poll they seem tohave a large Demo bias. The onlyone worse is the Minnesota poll sponsored by the STar and sickle.
Hoping to illustrate that voter polls so far in the U.S. Senate race are unreliable, U.S. Sen. Rick Santorums campaign pointed Thursday to another poll that shows state Treasurer Bob Casey Jr. with far less of an edge than a poll released a day earlier.Casey's lead continues to shrink. Tick...Tock...The poll by Zogby Interactive showed Mr. Casey with the support of 47.9 percent of voters compared to 41.3 percent for Mr. Santorum, a 6.6 percentage-point difference. The poll of 769 voters was conducted in the week ending Monday, the same period as a Quinnipiac University poll of 1,076 voters released Wednesday that showed Mr. Casey up 52 to 34 percent.
See now this is a damned lie! Santorum's approval number is 12.8% among unregistered hobo's likely to vote from a park bench in Pilly. casey on the other hand has a 98% approval rating among people over 90 who think this is 1973.
