Japan: A strong earthquake of 6.2 magnitude shook the country yesterday and injured at least seven people.
The quake occurred at about 9pm (5am local time) on the southern main island of Kyushu, and shook southern and western Japan.
New Zealand: Gale-force winds cut power to Auckland today, while heavy snow from a cold snap blanketed much of the south.
The power failure cut supplies to half of the city's 1.3 million residents, as police activated a plan to secure the city area.
That would result in some shaking :)
This looks like it was right at Aso. Good one for you?
Not good in that it woke me up at 5 a.m. !
Good in that there was no damage .
Glad no one was killed. But 6.3 isn't much of an earthquake. Teddy Kennedy playin' hopscotch could cause at least a 7.0.
So that's what those rumbles were down on the Cape :)
