Yes, yes,...What is it called when one repeats words or activities which creat an adverse outcome but upon repeating it one expects a different result?....Yes, that is it........
As Reba would say, the Dixie Chicks seem to be singing with their foot in their mouth. It's really too bad. They can sing but I would never buy anything they put out. They aren't too happy having 'fans' who like Toby Keith & Reba so they say. That pretty much covers everybody who loves country music.
ROFLOL!!!
Those-poor-poor-Dixie-Chicks ping.
Do you think initial album sales reports may have been weak? This is too funny, I don't care who ya are!
One standout sure to cause some fur to fly is Not Ready to Make Nice, which deals with the flap surrounding Maines' comments about the president in 2003, which resulted in a number of country stations dropping the Chicks from their playlists.
Equally tuneful, sharply observed tunes include I Hope, penned with blues master Keb' Mo'; Everybody Knows, which explores the psychology of celebrity; and Lubbock or Leave It, which addresses small-town stupidity.
In Taking the Long Way, the Dixie Chicks aren't backing down.

I listen to this station quite often, and I can tell you one thing...
WVAF Charleston 304-345-V100 (345-8100)
It's not country, its a rock station..
Oh my. That's . . . . that's just sad.
"Pimp Our Album!"
The sign of desparation by some vindictive harpys...
"Besides, where would we fit on the playlist between 'Honky Tonk Badonkadonk' and 'Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off'?" asks Maines, citing two recent country hits, as the rest of the Chicks sisters Martie Maguire and Emily Robison join in her laughter.
"We don't want to be a square peg," pipes in Robison, while Maines adds: "We'd rather be the square peg on the other side!"
The Dixie Chicks (from left), Natalie Maines, Martie Maguire and Emily Robison, are releasing their latest album "Taking the Long Way." But fans won't find the album's first single, "Not Ready to Make Nice," on country radio. The Chicks' sound is now more rock than country.
Let 'em keep ripping. They'll be writing the soundtrack for Da Vinci Code II.
DC's -the cross-eyed one, the fiddle player and the fatty.
Quite a load of talent there---a group with classics like "tequila makes her clothes fall off"---
I would like to thank the Dixie Chicks for making all these phone numbers available to us here at Free Republic. It sure does make it convenient for us!
For my part, I called WKLB in Boston and let them know my feelings. BTW, my wife and I have been supporters of WKLB since their inception. We've gone to most of their annual summer concerts and we've had their bumper sticker on our car. I let them know that too.
Lubbock or Leave It, which addresses small-town stupidity.
Is a city of 250,000 a small town? Can a town be stupid?
Her friend from high school said that Natalie was not the sharpest person.
Tell them that you will CALL their advertisers too, should they play the Dixie Chicks.
I heard the Ditsy Chits last week on NPR. Now, that's desperate. They only air music acts that no one is listening to.
I thought they didn't care about the country market? LOL
Really, all I can remember is Alan Colmes a few years back taking pride in their first concert on American soil being attended. Wonder what he thinks now?
Internet pre-sale ticket sales to their summer tour are not going well. It's panic city for the chicks. There's a big difference between leftists dropping $10 bucks for a discounted CD and a person who will drop $50-$85 for a concert ticket. This is going to be fun to watch once the general ticket sales begin.
Of course, the reason for the divide has very little to do with their new musical direction (more California rock than country twang) and everything to do with the bitterness and anger that remain from the fallout over what has become known simply as "the comment."
