Illegal Immigrants: Who Loses, Who Wins?
San Antonio Congressman Lamar Smith disagrees. "Prices might go up a few pennies. There's a study completed recently: If we had all employers hire legal immigrants or citizens, the cost of vegetables would go up two or three cents and I think Americans are willing to pay that."
The Congressman serves on immigration committees and says tourists would be willing to pay more if businesses were forced to raise wages and their prices.
